Ordeal Mod Version 2 fixes a lot of bugs that still plague the original game fully patched even with the Ordeal Mod Version 1 installed. The Mod also introduces all new features like controllable Demon Morphs, new lights and dynamic lights for Souls and CheckPoints, a lot of new original secrets, a multitude of new and balanced card unlocking conditions (usually two per level), new levels (based on MP architecture) with very good Painkiller gameplay, new HUDs to choose from and a generally improved level atmosphere. A new money system has been introduced.
The "Ordeal" difficulty is finally finished since the "Ordeal" difficulty in Version 1 of the Mod was merely a blueprint. The difficulty has been improved in every possible way and will bring new enemies, altered level parts and limited quicksaves plus all the other changes that the "Ordeal" difficulty had already made in Version 1 of the Mod.
Some of the changes made in Version 1 of the Mod regarding the Ordeal difficulty are: reduced Demon Morph time, no controllable Demon Morphs, Golden Cards last less, monsters are smarter, tougher, stronger and faster and only a few levels have quicksaves. This difficulty is dedicated to all faithful and hardcore Painkiller players.
You'll have to prove your worth to get to the "Ordeal" difficulty but the effort is well worth it. You'll be ready for it when you do!

The changes above are only a small (very small) part and those of you who are curious will check the Short Changelog and those who are really into seeing behind the scenes and details for every single change and fix, will check the Detailed Changelog.

The Mod fully supports Painkiller: Black Edition and the original Painkiller release with the addon Battle out of Hell patched to version 1.64 and will be available in English, Romanian, German, Polish, Spanish and Russian.

Ordeal Mod Version 2 requires that the Painkiller 1.64 copy you own be patched with Powermad 3.62 beforehand. The Mod archive comes with Powermad as well. DO NOT have any other Mods installed.

Check out the trailer below for some action and get a taste of some of the features that may or may not bring Painkiller BooH or Black Edition close to perfection.

Are my options supposed to not save when I quit the game? Everything about my video options reset after I modify them then quit the game. Also that "Demon Morph Available" HUD thing is too big and quite intrusive, isn't there a way to make it less in-your-face?

The options save if you "apply" them. There is no problem with that whatsoever unless you installed the wrong version of the game and not the one required to play the Mod.
The Demon Counter fits perfectly and it's smaller if you play in one of the supported resolutions. The game tells you if the selected resolution is supported or not when you apply the video settings.

Previous issues have been dealt with. But I found some funky bugs:

Can't mind anything on the mouse, the game crashes when I try to.

The Electrodriver's combo shot uses only the lightning ammo, even though it shoots a huge shrunken.

Also is there a way to put the rocket launcher and Electrodriver back in their original position?

I've never ever heard of this and for me it is fine. It's not a bug due to the Mod if you experience this anyway it's maybe from the game.

That's how the Electrodriver uses the ammo when it shoots the combo. It's fine, no bug. It shoots it's entire upper part that looks like a Shuriken and that part is full of electricity. This is how it was in the original game too.

You can't change the weapon position. It was changed to reflect the weight of the weapon and the strain it puts on Daniel and to make the weapon look more intimidating. You get used to it.

I'll try to see if I can fix the first issue myself, it indeed seems to be a problem on my end. The weapon position is fine I'll eventually grow used to it but I still dislike the position of the Electrodriver. About the Electrodriver's combo attack though, I still do not agree with it. I always thought it was a bug in the original game, an oversight if you will, it makes no sense for the combo attack to use only one ammo type especially since it fire the magazine of shrunkens like it does.

Well yes, the Electrodriver is a bit off the intended position, sadly on some resolutions like 1920X1080.
You are right about the Electrodriver combo, but it would be unbalanced to use ammo from both fire-modes and it would decrease the weapon's combo usefulness. Painkiller was never a realistic game as you know. Working on it, I discovered many unrealistic aspects up to the point of not making sense, but that's how the game generally is, for fun.
