This, like it's parent mod major crisis, is for zdoom 2.8.1 engine ONLY. It will simply not function in gzdoom at all. You have been warned...
although extreme prejudice was actually designed with deathmatch games in mind, it can also be used in singleplayer campaigns to simply add more weapons to the roster, just because variety is nice.
why not simply just add these new weapons to the main pack? well quite simply, balance.
the observant and/or most die-hard of fans will remember that the mining laser was actually part of the main pack at one point. well as you can see its been ported out and into this add-on (with a few new friends) so as not to ruin gameplay balance that I've worked so hard to get when I first started major crisis. this way, it should please all. if you don't mind it a bit op then by all means use the new weapons in singleplayer. If your stickler for more balanced gameplay then simply dont use it!
anyway enough chat, here's the goods:
UAC 'magnum' emg pistol
the latest in plasma armaments from the UAC, the emg is the energy-upgrade version of the mkII pistol.
utilizing a larger and rather robust frame, the emg uses a scaled down plasma core to generate bolts of pure plasmatic energy.
using cells for ammo the emg is capable of firing for extended periods with no need for reload.
in fact, even when your supply of cells are depleted the chamber is still capable of generating enough energy for single shots, albeit slowly...
as if not enough, the emg features an alternative fire mode that allows you to charge the coil, resulting in a more intense magnum-bolt of energy to be produced. more costly on ammo but much more penetrative.
USSMC Assault Rifle
The M-211 Semi-Automatic Gas-Operated Infantry Combat Weapon or sig-cow, as it more commonly known, is the UAC assault-rifle specifically designed for use of ussmc military personel.
as such, the superior craftmanship and greater tolerances of the sig-cow make this rifle much more effective than the smg in most combat scenarios.
tactically, the m-211 bridges the gap between the smg and the chaingun, featuring fire-power on par with a chaingun with a level of accuracy that matches that of the smg.
but lets not mince words here, it is a beast on full auto, featuring recoil that can truly spoil your aim.
that being said, the accuracy over range can be vastly improved by utilizing the underslung lasersight mounted in the front end of the foregrip.
isn't technology wonderful?
clearly based on the the same designs as the grenade launcher, the prox-launcher fires similar bombs to the grenade launcher in that the orbs also feature the mass reactive warheads, meaning they will always explode on contact with the enemy.
however the prox-mines deviate from regular grenades in that they will not detonate on a timer nor on contact with the enviroment.
instead, when launched the mass reactive warhead is deactivated until movement has ceased weareupon it simply reactivates.
This way the mine will not detonate unless disturbed by an enemy or detonated by the handy remote control.
Prox-mines are smart and will not respond to your own movement, making them ideal for setting ambush traps. sneaky and underhanded, yes, but very satisfying!
UAC industrial mining laser
This unwieldy object is more or less a gigantic capacitor, using cell packs to spin the coil of an overamped electro-magnet and then discharging the load directly out the front end as a laser-beam of rather intense power. Anything caught in the main beam is likely to be cooked in seconds but the beauty of this repurposed mining tool is the sheer number of badguys the beam can carve its way through before it hits concrete!
originaly designed as a portable waste disposal unit, this industrial incinerator is just as effective when weaponised. redefining the phrase; takin' out the trash!
The jet of combustive jelly the blazethrower fires has the tendancy to pool on floors, leaving the very floor itself aflame.
the destructive power of the blazethrower has few downsides, one being that the pools of burning fuel can tend to limit your movement, potentially leaving you boxed in. however, the thrill of hosing the place down in fire is sure to make up for this!
This archaic looking double-barreled brute of a weapon is yet another weaponized adaptation of a UAC industrial tool.
the armour piercing darts it fires (commonly referred to as nails) are capable of joining steel plate to bulkheads.
however they are just as capable of nailing several badguys at a time before hitting walls...
alternate fire allows you to bounce the nails off of surfaces, essentially adding an tactical advantage at the cost of penetrative power.
