Happy new year everyone! We proudly present our first official update of 2010, that being said we are coming to you guys with some important news regarding the development process in OF2. Our last update was a disappointment to many when the Multiplayer demo was canceled. The team has always been hard at work to get the multiplayer working, however after accessing the situation we decided on changing OF2 mission. Multiplayer on OF2 has ceased, however this is not bad news. We present Phoenix Strike, a side by side cooperative team developing a fun and creative multiplayer experience set in the OF2 universe, using the same textures, guns, models, loved maps, etc. There will be shared media on both their site and ours; however they will remain to be individual modifications. For those upset about the disappointing multiplayer demo not being released as planned we can assure you the Phoenix Strike team is hard at work to releasing a presentable alpha.
For some time now we have been brainstorming a way to deliver special content to individuals who are actively supporting OF2. Those of you who are good at drawing get your pencils sharpened; starting later this year the official OF2 “fan art” contest will begin. The winners of the contest shall receive an exclusive set of weapons on the upcoming mod Phoenix Strike. They'll also get an exclusive class of their option, so keep tuned for the contest.
Eventhough we don’t have any media to show at this point, we're prepairing an update soon. As a matter of fact, due to community requests, we have added to our weapon arsenal the Vortex Gun, the Combine Guard and the Cremator, together with frequently requested weapons, such as the M16, and asked features, like kicking. Soon also we will present updated media from old levels which have been reworked completely.
If you want to support the mod, remember that we always have open positions on the team. Right now we're accepting people with two or (preferably) more years of experience on what they do. Well thats good that another team is going to handle MP (multiplayer), gives you guys more time for working on the mod, as for reworking some of the levels, I can't imagine how amazing they will look when they are ready to be release. Good luck guys, God speed.
Oh hey. I'm one of the members making the multiplayer aspect of the mod. We probably aren't going to add a page on moddb for this, but we will give Menter media to release on here instead. :)

true, but i always thought the combine had much superior wepeons hence the ar2 and not use the ancient tech of machine guns
The AR2 is a mix between Combine technology and human technology. In Opposing Force 2, the AR2 is still a prototype weapon, so the Combine will either use their alien weapons or human weapons.
I sense great things in this year...
