Help Psycho quest Thread - Old Good STALKER Evolution mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl

Sacharov says he can't help Psycho, but a scientist named Dr. Marsh could help him. Does Psycho (Insane stalker from freedom faction) can be saved or is he fated to commit suicide?

Insane stalker is not from Freedom faction, he's a loner. The scene is scripted, he will kill himself. You need to take his flash card and the courpse will disappear. But the quest is not completed yet. You will see it by yourself after the sleep.

Perhaps someone can help me on this. As soon as I speak to the scientist, Psycho vanishes? So I'm unable to report back to him, which is the latter part of the task. Then, a few game-hours late, the task goes to fail. What am I doing wrong here?

That's something new. Save needed - with Insane stalker before the talk with scientist.

Also, are you sure that you start new game on patch 2.01 or later?

Dear vultur_stern, there is no 2_10.1 version. Maybe you decided that the name of the file matches the version number? You're wrong. There are patches 2.10 and 2.11. Patch 2.11 we do not support anymore.

Is the quest finished when you wake up with the note and artifact? I have both, I read the note, the artifact does not seem to do anything and it did not update the quest.

Finished. If you really read the note than you can use it as a protector of your sleep in the place without any neutral or friendly NPCs. Try to sleep in such a place without this artifact and you will see what will happen.

Is that the same effect as you get from completing the quest for the old man by going to the apartment in Pripyat to look for his daughter?

It's the part of that effect.
