So I've played through OGSE 0693 twice, loved it, I think it's the best version of SOC that I've played, but currently I cannot get the game to launch. The configurator opens, but when I try to launch the game, it comes up with this error saying Assertion failed. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Assertion failed! Program: E:\Games\OGSE\bin\XR_3DA.exe Expression: state && "state assert" For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts Now, I have recently installed an SSD in my computer as the boot drive with a fresh install of windows 10, while retaining my old HDD for storage. I uninstalled the old copy of OGSE and reinstalled because it's the best method I know for sorting out file paths. I applied the standalone 2.10R patch, as well as the 2.10R fix, then attempted to launch the game, which is when I came across this error. Having read the FAQ, I uninstalled and reinstalled not only the 2005 C++, but every single C++ redistributable as it seems to be an issue with the runtime, but still have the same error when I try to launch the game. Following this, I also tried to use DLL suite as the log seems to indicate a .dll problem, but after running the free version of DLL suite, still the same error. I also tried changing the video drivers - I have AMD, and followed Yuri's advice on using driver version 16.2.1 and not newer, but still same error. Posting here as a last resort, below is the .log contents. Edit: I should make a note that when I reinstalled OGSE, I did still install it to my old HDD, not on the SSD, as that has worked fine for all my other games. Edited by: stuart94 |

The Problem is that the mod can not load ogse.dll library from relative path bin\extensions. To start, check if you have this library. |
||

Yes ogse.dll is there, in the correct place in bin\extensions. How can I direct the computer to find it there? |

The simplest way is to delete all and reinstall the mod. After you will install the patch 2.10R do not forget to launch the configurator - it will create new folder structure. |

I've already tried reinstalling, which didn't work. I uninstalled, then made sure all files were deleted, then reinstalled the whole thing, but still won't work. |

Install Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86), don't forget to install last update for DirectX 9 from June 2010. The latter is never installed via Windows Update. Check video drivers (the latest ones, delete settings for original STALKER in drivers properties). |

Firstly - fantastic mod. Love it. Thanks to all who have contributed to it. I have had exactly the same issues as stuart94 - namely I have been playing it for some time and am on the second play through but suddenly get the same crash and error message. I have a new Asus GL55 that has had no problem with the mod up till now!!!! I likewise have the mod installed on the HD - not the SDD. My nVidia 960M drivers are fully up to date. I have checked everything mentioned by SimplyYuri - to whom many thank for his support on this mod - but to no avail. Edited by: frisk.v.g. |

I don't even know what else to recommend you. Maybe you have installed new video drivers? If so, try older video drivers. There's no such problem with Nvidia, but I don't khow about AMD video drivers. |

Hi guys, I did actually end up solving my issues. Driver version was not the problem, nor the C++ redistributables. After installing my SSD and making it my boot drive, I had not reinstalled PhysX and DirectX versions, which I don't believe come as a package install with OGSE, as they do with many other games. Try sorting these issues out, and if still not working, try rolling back drivers to a previous version, as I don't think the newest drivers work that well with OGSE. Hope this helps Edited by: stuart94 |

This is the mod, not the game. We can not pack all the software needed. Also. the latest Nvidia drivers works just fine with OGSE. |

Sorry Yuri, didn't mean to criticise, just to explain. I actually found the fix by accident when installing another game which prompted installation of directX and PhysX |

I cant even start the game: XRAY Engine A crash has been detected by BugTrap Exeption reason XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "D:\stalker 1\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\xrCore_GSC.DLL" at 0023:00CBCC85, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s) Registers EAX=031F7460 EBX=BBA19127 ECX=031F7468 EDX=031F752D Could you help me fix this problem? |

First of all, have you tried uninstalling and deleting everything, then fresh install? Have you successfully played the game before? |
||
Feb 4 2017 Anchor | ||
Without mod the game will start correctly. I tried reinstall and install the game and the mod many times, but there is still the same problem when I install the mod. I have also installed all drivers and check the PhysX.(I have newest DirectX 12 and PhysX). I do not understand where is the problem and why I could not play the game with the mod :-( |
||
Feb 6 2017 Anchor | ||
The mod is standalone, you can't install it on the vanilla game. |

I played the game with 2.0 and all was fine. Then I loaded the 2.10 , then 2.10 fix2 and now launcher won't work. I will post the error if possible but usually there is just a white screen with no wording. Very frustrating. Any I deas ? I have loaded all Yuri suggested, also...visual C++ red. sp1 x86 & x64 ...ogse.dll is in right place. Stumped !! |

I also have this problem: XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "D: \ games \ STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl \ bin \ xrCore_GSC.DLL" at 0023: 005FCC85, xrDebug :: backend () + 165 byte ( s) I played OGSE already on this PC when it was still 2.09 patch. Uninstalled some time ago and now reinstalled correctly (ogse, patch + configurator and fix) This is the ogse.log [03/25/17 14:11:06] --SetLogCallback to file d:\stalker ogse\_appdata_\logs\_ogse.log I'm pretty surprised I see tens of these kind of posts about this crash but no resolution. |

The problem is in "!! error, msg : error loading module 'LuaXML_lib' (system error 14001". That's the indication that your OS do not have VC++ 2005 installed. Also, the version must be for x86 no matter that your OS is for x64. |
||
Mar 28 2017 Anchor | ||
The thing is, I already uninstalled and installed VC++ 2005, both 86 and 64. Also, ogse version 2.00 without any patches launches normally, when I install 2.10 and fix I get this error. The last time I played ogse on this PC was 2.09. Did any requirements change in 2.10? |

I also have the same problem, after installing the patch 2.10 revised game crased, hmmmmm |

You have to install the x86 and x64 Microsoft Visual C++ redist, the one linked in FAQ of this forum. It is a newer version than most games/windows updates install. |
||

I cannot seem to find the FAQ section of this forum with the link to x86 and x64 Microsoft Visual C++ redist I missed one line on the above code. This is the correct one here...
looks like user.ltx is the problem. I have no idea how to fix. reinstalling doesnt fix |
