Nuclear Winter mod for Half-Life 2

The mod takes place around 2050. After a Chinese US war. The player joins a militia after the US is attacked by Russia who is try to take back the former glory of the soviet union.

It is the year 2050, the world is covered in war… There was tensions between China and the United States for many years, but no one imagined that this would happen. It started out as some recon missions launched by the U.S. , but it wasn’t causing enough damage or instilling enough fear into China for them to back down. Recon elevated to full scale attacks , which brought upon World War III. After both U.S. and Chinese troops were exhausted, bombs were used…nuclear bombs. Armies were crushed, militias formed out of basic necessity for living. There was a turning point where the U.S. hit a vital blow to China’s imports and many innocent people starved. Russia decided to capitalize on this event and slowly began to systematically destroy China. But, Russia also attacked Europe, no one could stop the sudden blitzkrieg. After a few years of fighting, the UK fell, leaving the US alone against Russia. Each country once agian, started the use of Nuclear Weapons. As Russian soldiers landed on US soil, the US military could not stop them. Militias formed in an effort to expell the Russians.

Most levels take place in a bombed out New York city, and its harbor areas. The player is a former factory worker who joins an "anti-communist" militia. The general Architechture of the buildings is more post modern than futuristic. There are only a few new weapons, a futuristic assault rifle, sniper, and anti-tank ion cannon.
