Normandy '44: European Theater combines a higher level of realism with a more elaborate doctrine system, which incorporates almost 50 different military units that took part in the period of Jun-Sept 1944. This spectrum ranges from divisions of free Polish and French units serving under the main allied armies to volunteers from the Eastern Front that served in the German Wehrmacht. This is only a small portion of the doctrine variety however, as we feature numerous well known units of all factions as well. The mod also features numerous new abilities and custom made units each with a completely revamped size and structure. Between custom made units and structures with historically correct skins, Normandy '44 offers over 150 NEW UNITS, making for an almost endless variety of different scenarios and unit actions. Combined these factors provide for an experience unlike any other mod for CoH!

I'd like to point out that we asked the community if they wanted to see more content in our mod at the cost of performance in some regards.

The VAST majority wanted more content, so obviously we went with the majority on this.

Sorry you feel that way, though.

I never regarded people, who take quantity over quality, as smart human beings. Yes, you will have shitload of vehicles and infantry will loose its meaning on battlefield. I'd rather have few vehicle units, with more infantry variations, which would lead into fun battle. As far as coh mods history went, when there are crapload of tanks and ****, AI tends to spam same units over and over again, making all this very annoying.

Well, those AT infantry units, as well as any other infantry units, are easily raped by vehicles.

Don't worry about the AI spamming things. Sweeten has redone the AI in it's entirity, and there are limits set on units to prevent spamming.

As far as Quanity over Quality goes, it was simply the majority. Believe me, I'm the biggest fan of variation in the world especially with Infantry.

We've rebuilt the AI from the ground up so that they, well don't just build the same couple of units over and over again, because that's not only stupid but it's incredably boring.

And an older rig that can play vanilla CoH won't be able to run this because of the many units.

@Foo_Jam2002 - We're well aware of that, Foo. The amount of information on our forums that tells players that due to the amount of content, and size of our mod that most players will have to turn their settings down is immense. We asked the Community, we gave the Majority what they wanted.

And before I get this comment: No, you don't need some Super Skynet computer to run our mod. You need a newer Operating System (Vista, Windows 7) in x64 Bit (To use all your RAM) and at least four Gigabytes of RAM is what you'd want.

Our graphical specifications are on our Forums, in plain site for the user. Upon adding more content, we turned down the resolution of the skins and even reduced the variety of skins in any given unit to REDUCE the effects of the added content.

Long story short, if your older rig is barely half assing Vanilla, why in gods name would you think it could run a mod with such a sheer amount of content. You might have to upgrade your computer. I did, and I now run this modification wonderfully. It's just the nature of the beast that is our Modification, and the majority likes what we've done, so we will continue to do so.

The majority of us are very happy to see all the work that is currently going on. We understand that these images are not the final ones and we know that the final product will be perfect. Keep up the excellent work boys and thank you for the updates.

Merry Christmas to you all from Kalymnos Island Greece.

Thank you, Katterman. This Kubelwagon model is, well extremely old. We know that the Eastern Front team has made a newer, better model (If you were to look at this model from a top down perspective, you'd notice there's only room for one seat in the front and back.) So we're going to see if we can use that model and remove the MG42 that they have placed in the passengers seat.

We're working as hard as we can at the moment to get this finished for you guys so that we can finally give our community of devoted fans something new and refreshing to play, and also help us with bugfixing and the like.

@Twitchy_ET44
Yeah, the seat gunner can be removed easily :)... just need to turn the state off.

I can send you the files with that setup if you like. The only problem with the passenger gunner is that the windshield has no animations and the plan was it should be able to lower the windshield in order to use that mg.

I guess that will be fixed for the future, but other than that it works fine :).

Description

This is the Volkswagen Kübelwagen, short for Kübelsitzwagen, meaning "bucket seat car". Based heavily on the Volkswagen Beetle, it was prototyped as the Type 62 but later became known as the Type 82. This model is used for reconnaissance and artillery observation. It has a mounted MG42 for some anti-personnel support as well. It is featured in the majority of German doctrines in v2.0
