Deus Ex: Nihilum (DXN, DEN or Nihilum for short) is a First Person Shooter mod taking place in an alternate Deus Ex continuity - released on May 28th 2013. It features new made-from-scratch original content, while also extensively featuring material from the UNATCO Born mod (used with permission from fender2k1, UB's project leader) and Deus Ex: Revision (used in accordance with the mod's license).

The development of the mod will be finished by January 1st 2013 but the actual release will take place as soon as all the voice acting and beta testing have been completed. Many thanks to everyone who voted on the poll concerning the release date for the mod. The results can be reached from this link, since it seems to be impossible to close the poll even with the forums closed and the thread itself locked.
The majority (89%) of the votes went for option B. This means that in practice, I will do my best to have the mod finished by 01/01/2013 but from that date on I will not actively work on the mod any longer. However, I'll make sure that all the voice acting will be completed and following that, the entire mod beta-tested thoroughly. Ideally, this phase wouldn't take that long (a few weeks, ideally) and the release will take place as soon as the voice acting and beta testing have been fully completed.
And on that note...
I will start actively looking for voice actors in the summer, so there will be more detailed list of the characters and what kind of voices they need. Of course - given the nature of Deus Ex - this list will not only be comprised of the main and secondary characters, but all the civilians as well. And given the nature of alternate conversations and lines, well, it's going to take LONG to have all the lines recorded. I just hope anyone interested will have a good enough microphone and, more than anything, patience. :]
Most of the mod development in March 2012 revolved around creating the gameplay for the main plotline of the mod. Currently the first act of the mod is finishable; which still means that there's only one way to play it through, making the gameplay a very rough skeletal structure at this point. Thus I'd estimate that the levels of the first act are currently less than 20% finished. Working on the basic gameplay has given me ideas for more varied gameplay (and oh so many different conversation options), but my current goal is still to implement basic gameplay for most of the mod and keep on adding content on top of that 'skeletal structure', or so to say.
However, I would still say that this mod is going to be more on the 'mod' and less on the 'Total Conversion' side. Roughly put, this means that I'm not going to focus on revising the weapons, augs, gameplay mechanics, AI and so forth. Sure, there will be a tweaks there and there (as you can see from the screenshots) but nothing major. Creating interesting maps and the plot is going to be my main focus. However, I'm starting to think that the time of grand screenshots is over. To save time, I've decided to rely more on pre-2010 architecture as well, and it doesn't really look that bad ;]
Taking heed from the poll results, I can focus on finishing as much of the mod as possible - hopefully all the way to the planned end - before January 1st 2013 and delaying all my worries about the finalized voice acting and beta testing after that date.
