Enhanced gun play, NPC & trader economy, and weapon diversification. Fully upgradeable weapon profiles, numerous variants of each gun. No longer will you go through the zone seeing everyone with the same AK.
Well first off, I'm sorry I went so long without posting an update, I'm not dead and I'm not abandoning this project. I've been very busy for the past 6 months, without going into much detail, I've just been dealing with a lot of drama. However things have been clearing up lately and I've got more time to get to doing what I love, modding stalker! I didn't really feel like posting a big news update because I wasn't really working on the mod while I was gone.
Okay so, to be honest with you guys, I have been struggling to find the motivation to keep pushing on with this particular project. I've been wanting to try new things so this project may go through some changes. 200 variants was a very high ambition, I may have to adjust that to something more achievable and less time consuming, I will probably have a better estimate soon. However that could rise after updates and new versions, but for now, that's what to expect in v1.0. I would love to hear from you guys what you would like to see done in stalker, so if you have any good ideas I'm open.
I do have some good news though! I have been helping KingFriday with testing of his new reanimation project and I can announce that this mod will be using all new animations by KingFriday. You can check out his moddb page here: Moddb.com
Good to hear something from you again, Twist. Welcome back
Glad to be back :)
Including new animations is great news.
New animations are always fantastic treats :) As for feeling like 200 is daunting... don't forget, like many modders do, that you can always go back and add stuff later. A project is not a linear journey, but a continuous effort towards something you enjoy. And usually people who do what they enjoy can end up creating something everyone enjoys, too :)
I'm wondering, is there anyway to make cross sight options relatively simple? Like ACOGs on AKs etc. If not, that's all right, I understand how much an issue playing with XRay is
I'm not sure what you mean, do you mean adding extra attachments besides the scopes? I don't know how to do this, I know it's possible to add different sights like Kobra sights, but they're permanent and non-detatchable.
Is there anyway to remodel the guns to not be mirrored? Like just replace all the guns with correct models and get the animation team to animate them accordingly, or am I just being too demanding?
Yeah, this is possible, but it would require new animations and texture edits cause some guns mirror the texture to both sides as well. Since most mine and KingFriday's work is on the vanilla models I'm sticking with them for now.
Like someone else was saying. Don't start with 200. Try 50 and then in each update, add 10 more or whatever. No only does this make YOUR job easier, it also lets you get the base out quicker and then gives people a reason to keep coming back. Each time you're off making a update, they could out telling more of their friends about how great the mod or game is and getting them in to it too. I have not played CoP in forever because I've been waiting on your mod to be released XD
