Have you tried out the Beta 4.1 WIP edition? Lots of fixes and improvements there now.

Also, I'm currently playing on Windows 10, does this fix the sea graphics a little? It's pretty dark blue on mod 13 cause of the intel issue I suppose.

The colour of the sea can be changed through code if you like. It is even possible to make it green. In Build 14, for example, it turns light Caribbean Blue when you approach shores.

If you use the Intel Fix on Build 14, there is some code in place to tweak the sea colour to look as good as we could get it with that fix. Still not brilliant, but you're probably not going to get better. Best is of course to not require that fix.

Man I can't find the stock PotC. Can you put it in a link?

Without SwiftShader installed the game crashes going to battle mode (or just leaving the overhead sailing mode). But the problem with SwiftShader is that it's using software emulation as it's documentation states which causes performance to lag. The music stutters and the frame rate is noticeably poor. I have a laptop with an nVidia graphics card with Intel graphics onboard. I've tried setting the nVidia control panel to run it with the high performance video card but that doesn't help and I've read the old PotC game ignores that anyway. Besides without SwiftShader installed as I mentioned it crashes going into battle. What am I to do, nothing? I'll admit I'm still running the b14_beta3_installer. I'll update to beta 4.1 but I'm doubtful it will impact this issue. Any advice please?

Thanks

PS. I'm using SwiftShader_V2.0_Demo.1 which is an installer. I tried using the x64 (for windows 10) SwiftShader v3.0 but it's only a d3d9.dll file and the game crashes at the same old place (entering battle mode) with that installed.

Found the solution. It was installing the Intel Fix (not! Swift Shader).
