NEOTOKYO° is a first person shooter that aims to provide a visceral & realistic combat experience in a rich futuristic setting. NEOTOKYO° takes place in and around a fictionalized Tokyo approximately 30 years in the future. Mankind has begun to fuse with technology. Government and corporate corruption have transformed Tokyo into a deadly dystopian nightmare. After a near-successful military coup by ranking members of Jinrai, the National Security Force (NSF) is formed - answering directly to the Prime Minister, it's mission is to investigate and eliminate all threats to Japan, both abroad and at home. The initial core of the NSF is made from an exodus from within the intelligence branch of the military. With this betrayal begins the war in the shadows between the NSF and Jinrai.

Love the trailer, great work I'm waiting this mods release.

side note, as a professional typographer, your screen shot presentation method absolutely kills me, the logo is too damn bold and in your face I cant focus on any of the awesome art you're producing! tone it down please :P

"the logo is too damn bold and in your face I cant focus on any of the awesome art you're producing! tone it down please :P"

We actually discussed this point as playtesters and developers, and decided that this was actually a very valid point. Looking at screenshots again, the title texts really do go all in your face compared to the actual art. The art team just went a little overboard here.

So don't vote down constructive criticism guys, sometimes a fresh perspective can be helpful. Even if you like jazzy type-setting. :)

I can see this needing some good death effects. Like the shooting into the air as you characters falls over dying. And first person deaths could make it even more amazing. The watch your guy fall to his knees and check himself for blood as he loses consciousness.

Once I DLed the 720p version of this, I must have watched it a dozen times as I've done for all your works monkey. They are truly amazing. Regardless of the game you take it and show off the true beauty it withholds from its community as they wait patiently for its release.

Props.

FriedchikenCamo Dec 13 2008, 11:46pm replied:

That's kind of like comparing apples to oranges though. Dystopia has well developed interaction between meatspace and cyberspace while Neotokyo is focused more on meatspace combat with tangential post-cyberpunk references.

Sure, the "ghost" objective in Neotokyo can automatically hack into a mil-satellite net and download enemy position data to the guy holding the irate AI, but the thematic focus between both mods are very different.

Huge props to Dystopia for the kind of dual-layered gameplay that they developed, it's just that Neotokyo is its own thing.

now that i watch it again.. the only problem that i see with the game is the deaths.. when the person dies they go flying... i think if you could tone down the ragdoll just a bit. somehow make the people more heavy. it would be better
