The Mission Failed Statistics Downloadsize: 12.3MB Size on Disk: 34.4MB System Required: Halflife 1.1.0.8 New Textures: Yes New Weapons: No New Monsters: Yes and no. There are no new *.mdl-files, but I created some turrets which act like monsters... Maps: 14 Creation Time: ~10 Weeks Compiling Time: Too long Backgroundstory: Yes. You should read the in-game-texts to understand the story. The Concept Mission Failed actually is a prequel to the Original Halflife. My intention were to creat a thrilling shooter with lots of background story. What was important for me: - reasonable weaponplacement - effective monsterplacement - good mixture between puzzles and killing action - an interesting backgroundstory - imperceptible player-guidance through the levels

Interesting mod with imaginative ideas and visuals.

Decent playtime, not-so-detailed maps that are hit and miss. Worth playing for the unique storyline.

This was a pretty good mod. I got stuck multiple times, which was annoying, but I eventually figured things out. There's an interesting plot, but nothing too spectacular. Predictable ending. The music, however, was a good addition.

Started off good, finished off great.

Story can keep many players playing the game and finish it. It wasn't much of a action based game but it can throw a punch at a player sometimes. The ending cut-scene was great and very unique.

Low level of detail apart from some furniture and laboratory elements. I liked "desert ending" and those alien fortifications even though that puzzle in one room was pointless.

Few easy puzzles, nothing very special.

The placement of ammunition, health and armor was more than enough so I never ran out of bullets. The placement of enemies was also fair, so this mod wasn't that hard.

What I also liked was the music even though it was like one song used multiple times. It bonded very well with cinematics - they were also very good.

I haven't seen much of scripting so nothing to say to that.

All in all this mod deserves 7/10 rating. Very good job dev/s

Nice short mod, I didn't run out of ammo once and enemy placement is fair, great level variety too.

Far from perfect (stuck in air on third map, had to use NOCLIP), few momments of low details, but overall very playable, great ideas, not hard, and interesting ending.

Apart from some short music there was one thing in the way of custom content; the virtual environment almost made me like the mod but it didn’t last long enough to really redeem it. I liked the concept and its something I’ve seen only twice vaguely before (the beginning of System Shock 2, and theres a hl2 mod called Dystopia).

The chess board part was interesting though it felt like a wasted idea because not much was done with it. The first half of the mod was nothing I haven’t seen before, with some industrial areas and some short labs, no scripted sequences apart from the opening scene, gameplay was pretty much easy, some keycard hunts which I’m not a fan of unless a mod can make it interesting.

The ‘desert concept’ in the end was unique.
