Even as school comes into full swing for many of us, things continue to move along. I’m mostly working on MidEast Crisis myself, so that’s what I’ll focus on here. In the forums, we’ve got people saying Syria is too weak, Syria is too powerful, Israel is too poor, and so on and so forth. Well, your cries are not going unheeded. Yet another MidEast Crisis patch is in the works, the biggest yet. Bugs will be fixed, balance issues will be rectified, and we may even add a bit of new content to spice things up a bit more. No promises, but I’ll do everything I can! If this patch proves to give fair balance to the game, then MidEast Crisis will then move towards Stage 3…

… Tournament! It’s been in the works for a while and in planning since even before release. I can tell you now it’s going to be unlike any other tournament the C&C community has ever seen. Featuring ten all new (and utterly gorgeous) maps, players will battle over the Golan Heights in an attempt to storm the enemy’s capital and force a resolution to the conflict. Matches will be fought over real terrain areas mapped out on the real Golan Heights, and the maps themselves are based on both close-up and aerial photographs taken of the area by the ISOTX team and others. As matches are played, territories are captured and recaptured. When one team has enough territory under their control, they can make an armed push towards either Jerusalem or Damascus, where the top players will fight the final battle. There WILL be prizes for the winners, and each match will be observed and judged by ISOTX staff, usually me. Play well, but play fair! More details to come, but, for now, here’s a taste of the maps that will be used…

And yes, these maps will be made freely downloadable when the tourney starts, so there will be many more MEC maps for you to play on.

Also, as a bit of an afterthought, I realized we still have a lot of really nice 3D renders leftover from before release. So, check ‘em out!
