The 'Middle Earth Roleplaying Project' aims to recreate J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth in the Creation engine of 'Skyrim'. The player will be plunged into Middle Earth near the end of the Third Age, not long before the War of the Ring breaks out.
Made by tomato!
yeah well done guys cant wait for this!
this sword gonna be 1h or 2h ? if 2h would it be carried on players back like normal 2h swords in skyrim ?
That is a good question. It was wielded both ways in the books. So it could go either way.
Prob the best thing to do is make it a longsword, with damage between a 1h and 2h sword.
no, the sword might have been used as 1H while it was carried by Numenorians a normal human couldn't use it that way, are any of the playable characters pure numenorians?
Aragorn is pretty close to pure Numenorean and he will be carrying it, unless the player, by some stroke of luck, manages to kill him.
Now I'm imagining playing as Frodo and murdering the entire Fellowship for the epic loot. >_>
its a "1.5" handed sword (sorry for my use of eragon terminology but its what id call it) so it uses 1 hand and a half of a hand to swing
Not to be "that guy" but I couldn't help but notice this:

Now to clarify I'm not pointing fingers at all but unless "Tomato" is Isilmeriel then I can see problems.
Just putting it out there, and please don't flame me if they are the same I'm just trying to help out.
Tomato IS Isilmeriel. Same person that created Amon Sul for us. In fact, on Skyrim Nexus, you can see that in one of her new pics of Sauron's Mace, she is standing in Amon Sul.
So no, we didn't steal anyone's work ;)
K lol i figured as much ;)
Cool, got this on Skyrim at the moment, just wish I could kill some Lord of the Rings style Orcs with it. Just a quick question if you don't mind answering - The combat in Skyrim is a bit useless (takes about 3 sword swings or arrows to kill someone when it should only really take 1) what enhancements are likely to be included? :) I'd much appreciate your time answering this question. :)
We will make combat more fast paced and intense by default. Full realism is impractical (one hit kills for all characters, player included, would become a real drag in battles), but we will keep things more challenging. However, the fact you can take multiple hits simply make up for the fact that we can't simulate every kind of non-lethal blow one can sustain in combat. Spears and mounted combat will be in. Also, we will have a realism mode that will make things even more intense as an option for those who want it.
Great, I'll probably be on the realism mode, I don't like hitting enemies loads to get a kill, especially when they're not wearing armour. I can't wait for the mounted combat, seems like something which should've been added as a skill at least to vanilla. By the way, I know nothing of programming or modding games, you got any tips? Like a basic program or something I could use to get me started? :)
kewl to the highest degree, good job folks :3
Question: Its a rollplaying mod correct? if so would the player be able to lets say become the king of gonder for example or are the players another member to the fellowship eg elf etc?
