MERP is a total conversion modification of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Explore Middle-earth in a fully open-ended environment like you've never seen before. Play races like Elves, Men, Hobbits and Dwarves and take part in the War of the Ring.
Dol Guldur is too far off. If my guess is correct, the structure on the hill is Durin's Stone, which is a pillar that was made after Durin the Deathless looked into the lake Mirrormere and saw a crown above his head (turned out to be stars, but it was the middle of the day and they shouldn't have been seen) He took this as a sign, and he founded the city of Khazad-dum. Durin's Stone was placed along the banks of the lake to mark the event. But until someone verifies this, its just a guess:)
If you are referring to the structure way off in the distance, that actually IS Dol Guldur. A place holder for now though; we will have a much better one eventually. Durin's Stone and the lake itself are just off the edge of the screen to the right.
Dol Guldur? :D
Time to kick Khamul's ancient ***, lol...

Well, is the structure just a tower on a hill, or a whole fortress?
omg this is 1 of the best pictures I ever saw of this mod if the game really looks like this then im in love :p
It might only look like this at a certain time of the day.. xD
Taken about 7AM, the time of day and weather type are definitely factors involved.
It looks even 'better' around midday, but I prefer the sunrise.
That is a nice view. It's this sort of scenery that makes you stop what you're doing, and appreciate the work put into it.
Very very nice indeed.
If only middle earth was real, i would sooo leave with my family and friends and never come back...
