MERP is a total conversion modification of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Explore Middle-earth in a fully open-ended environment like you've never seen before. Play races like Elves, Men, Hobbits and Dwarves and take part in the War of the Ring.
We might give the player the possibility to repair and rebuild some structures of old. One of them will be Amon Sul. What you see is a rough model created by Justb to establish the shapes, designs and proportions for the destroyed version. The actual finished version won't be exactly what is depicted here, as we know that Amon Sul is supposed to be tall and all that.

Awesome
Now thats my kind of architecture! So is each block a separate mesh or is it one huge static mesh with really nice normals?
They are separate. However, the final won't be like that; way too many polies. Also, this was created to help make the destroyed version. The actual rebuilt version won't be exactly like what you see here.
I guess it will be bigger and more fortress looking?
Sort of. It will be taller. However, it will still have a somewhat elegant form as it is Numenorean (Gondorian/Arnorian) in style.
nice. good luck with that :)
I think it's a great idea :D
so what would be the mechanics of the rebuilding? similar to rebulding Kvatch you complete some mission(s) and then Amon Sul will be a living place, with garrison etc?
Maybe. But the world doesn't revolve around the player in MERP so some things will just get rebuilt over time whether the player does anything or not.
That is so AWESOME! That means that you guys are creating an actual living world, if you know what I mean :D
Nice!
Excellent work.
Fantastic idea, I hope you can implement this.
This has to be one of the few ambitious mods that looks like it really can achieve its goal.
I foresee much awesomeness in the future.
