Medieval Kingdoms: Total War is a total conversion of Total War: Attila with brings the game to the high middle ages, set in the starting year of 1212 AD going until 1453 AD. This mod will completely revamp the game with new factions, units and much much more! (Yes this is the same mod team as for the Rome 2 version.)
Should we pour all factions to the selections ala M2 (Option A), or bundle and organize them into revamped Regional-Cultural Groups now capable to hold more than 6 factions per group (Option B)?

I like option A more since it's reminiscent of Medieval 2 Total War.
Agreed
Of course option B has more historical feeling in itself
Wait are you removing the faction bonuses?
I had not noticed that until you said. It would be awful if they do. Seems like Faction Traits are staying but Cultural Traits are gone
I have to start from the very beginning.
Initially, the plan was straightforward Attila-style: Grouped into Cultural Groups (e.g. Turco-Persian, Arabian, Mongol, Rus, Caucasian, Eastern Roman, and so on). But, he found limitations - Firstly, There can be only 11 groups; Second, each group can only have 6 faction, lest it slides through the border or goes under the faction leader box making them unselectable.
So we have to think creatively how to fit as many factions into the 11 groups, 6 faction max. To illustrate the problem: HRE have way more than 6 faction, and not all HRE factions are Germans. Other example is how the British Isles region only have 3 playable factions at best, so does the Scandinavian region, thus we merge them together. Same reason for Hispania and North Africa.
You can see this make cultural group bonus assignment impossible because of this scheme of faction distribution. So, we decide to throw away Cultural Traits, and just go solely using Factional Traits.
Things has changed however. As you can see we now has figured out how to edit UI, so each of the groups can contain up to 10 factions I believe, making Cultural Group reorganization possible.
Well we trust your decision either way.
Just my two cents, but you should consider reducing the sheer number of playables. I'd much rather see three or four focused, fleshed out, balanced, glitch free and polished playable HRE factions with cultural and faction traits instead of >6 no cultural trait factions without the content or most importantly balancing to make them unique or worthwhile.
My biggest concern is time. If CA with their massive budget has a hard time producing worthwhile DLC and fleshed out enough DLC factions in time, then you guys would have to work your a***s off if you plan on making so many playables that are actually enjoyable to play. So yeah, I'd content merge, make the rest of the HREs non-playables, and focus on polishing the big boy factions in the empire and finishing the game before the attila fanbase has dissipated.
For some reason some units aren't fully modeled in game? Can you please tell me how to fix this?
I like the B
Definitely A
Is it like one of them will be available or like anyone can choose whatever they want?
B is better people! What is wrong with you all!? A is ugly!
i couldn't agree more
B. Less cluttered.
B- It is less cluttered, and finding factions will be easier as you don't have to go through a single long group- instead you can go to the culture tab.
A. if they are sorted alphabetically.
B. if you seriously consider using clearer language. Latin is fun, but most people don't have a clue where Ruthenia or the Baltic are lol.
Well then, maybe people might learn something then lol
That would be nice. but these are people we are talking about. Very fallible.
It is Alphabetical
A.
A just because it reminds me the old total war selection. Otherwise B is indeed more historical
A.
I prefer A myself
A
B
Definetly B I really like the designs
A
What are the campaign cutscenes? oh and I quite like A as it reminds me of med 2, but B is also really nice, B would probably be more user-friendly and A would be more of a tribute to the earlier total wars.
Its does not mean videoclip cutscenes mind you (we haven't decoded the format Attila uses) - but the intro at every campaign start where the advisor narrates your starting position and directs the camera at the points of interest. At least, we have found out how to do it. Have to say, the narration would only be text-only and without the speech
Thats ok,just add cool medieval music in
Going with B, really dig the names for the regions
B is really nice, but clarify the groupings a bit. It's not even the Latin that is confusing, but names like Mare Germanicum are wierd
A for sure. I am pleased to see something new in attila engine. ;)
b
I would stick with B.One of rare great ideas by CA.
Definitely B, better sorted, user-friendly and brings historical knowledge
B
A
The cultural groupings in B always seemed a bit arbitrary, so I'd go for A
A
B
I would like option B with either latin or english as region names, however only if the text fits the box. I don't like how the text at Rhaetia et Balticum is not entirely in the box, so because of that i went with option A.
For every person that votes for A I will push a small child into a puddle of water... DO YOU WANT THAT ON YOUR CONSCIENCE PEOPLE?!
Vote B!
I like B more, I became used to that UI since Rome and I like it.
Being geographically challenged anyways i'm voting for A.
I like A the best. It really brings back that Medieval 2 feel and would be a lot less of a hassle to work around when adding new factions.
B looks cleaner IMO. But I'm honestly not all too bothered as long as it's functional as we're only going to see this screen for 0.1% of the entire playtime of a campaign.
B
B and B only
