Finally, after a long uphill struggle with Median 2/2SE/2006/2007, this mod reached mainstream acceptance with the release of Median 2008. People play it now. Hell yeah.
The formula is still the same: all-new skills (now 175, or 25 per class), lots of glitter and psychedelic lights, 12 new uberquests based on important story events, tiered item system, sockets everywhere, 325 runewords, 172 uniques and a postmodern menu background. Unlike in '07 and earlier versions, the skills aren't shared anymore either. Now that was a mistake, but I do learn.

Compared to 1.42 C, the first release version of '08, 1.44 now comes with improved PlugY support, Necro changes that make him less of a mindless zergmaster and more of a tactical zergmaster, gem shattering recipes to turn your junk gems into high level rares, the return of class-specific items including uniques and runewords, the Island of the Sunless Sea uberlevel, and yes, a certain fix to a certain bug exploited by certain individuals to create certain cheated items.
