I'm terrible with textures, but i tried and came out looking better then i thought. Just want to see what you guys think.

Good coloring but which section will change based on the color the player choose? Also will you add more details to the ships and add additional things such as reflection, windows, etc (basically anything you would find on a ship in SINs)?
You gotta remember you barely see fighters they are small, normally dont contain many polys and very rough textures.
Imo - you should add some 'battered' look, maybe add layer of Photoshop clouds with low opacity would help, and maybe tone down orange a bit.
Theres some great texturing tutorials about, though good start just need to add detail, break up some of the bland areas by using some grunge and metal brushes in photoshop to give it that weathered look, and maybe jst make it look like its made from panels etc.. by drawing lines at certain parts where it joins
