The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.
Even though all Reapers big or small will be able to bombard a planet, they are not available to later on in gameplay. So this is the Collector solution to that.
Someone must have built an AI, its name Lord_Set an unstoppable modelling machine!
I just got the update and that's immediately what I thought! Dude your a freaking machine! (which is perfectly suitable since your modelling the reaper faction xD )
Level of Awesomeness: Lord_Set
Geth do not require sleep.
Nice but sadly they all have a dwarfing design which makes them each very similar...how about just scaling back a portion of the large jagged piece always in the front? show the barrel inside a bit more.
If you compare the design of the Heavy Frigate vs the scout, that is exactly what has happened.
Most ships of any given faction are designed and build with similarities. Lord_Set is doing an incredible job of doing that, while at the same time giving them subtle features that make them different. As it should be.
Reapers are all about conformity and order. They represent a cycle that has done the EXACT SAME thing for the past 50 million years.
I personally think that the fact that these ships are similar fits them perfectly.
it really does look like a heavy frigate, awesome.
just wondering how much of cerberus needs to be completed? just to get it out of the way
Cerberus is about 99% completed, if not already completed.
were pretty close i only have a few structures left to texture
Percent complete shouldn't really be put out like this. It's somewhat confusing as this number isn't accurate for Cerberus as a whole.
I see what you mean, disregard my previous comment but thanks for clearing it up.
AHHHH YEAHHHH!
maybe 3 barrels for the smaller cruiser? just an idea
Haven't had a chance to look at the new ships that much and I must say that you've done a marvelous job of modelling Set. They really look a cross between organic and synthetic.
you said that reapers wouln't be buildable untill later on will you have to research them? all of them? or just the big ones like soverign or harbinger?
and will all collecter ships have the big beam like in me2, just biger or smaller?
Reapers, will be 'summond' by the ship yard, meaning that once the time limit has been finished they will zip into the gravity well from places unkown. Most Reapers will be capital ships, while there will be other cruisers and frigate class Reaper ships so expect some researching for the more unique Reaper vessels.
The collector ships will feature their particle beam weapons, varying in size depending upon the scale and type of ship fielded.
awesome ship!
just wondering if the collector ships aren't just a WEE bit too similar? basically will the icons and stuff be dissimilar enough to differentiate between collector ships easily. I'm not ragging on the standard design (all the ships look awesome imo), it's just that a lot of the time ingame i'm having to flit all over the place dealing with threats, and it MAY make that more difficult if a lot of the ships have only minor cosmetic differences to tell them apart. personally I will assume this has been noticed and is/will be dealt with (or was never a problem at all).
oh, one more question for curiosity's sake; will the reaper construction be using the pirate 'zip in' system? as in when you give a mission to the pirates they will warp in the appropriate amount of ships. sorry for being a pain, and best of luck with your mod.
Ships of the same faction are supposed to look extremly similar, look at the geth dreadnought and cruiser and dropship, look at the destiny ascention versus the standard asari cruiser. If they didnt look similar then Id say lord_set isnt doing his job right.
I think you may be missing my point. I am not speaking from a lore/canon perspective, but a game-play one; mainly I wanted to know how having factions with extremely similar ships affected game-play, whether it was a help or hindrance. It was my own curiosity, and not a criticism in any way.
That looks like it can withstand heavy damage.
