The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.
This is my built from scratch second take on the Citadel Council Cargo Ship. Little more detail. Still a Rough W.I.P though. Criticism is always appreciated good or bad.
Do you guys do smoothing groups before or after? Because all your pictures, only parts of the ship are smooth, and then the other parts where it looks like it should be round are rough and jagged.
Well this was the look i was going with, most of the concept art for this particular vessel looks like that. Ships like the Ascension have smoothing groups but honestly once a ship is skinned and in game smoothing group or not it looks the same.
A ship with smooth edges is drastically different from one without. In terms of shading, a smoother surface evenly spreads it across it all while hard surfaces have its own individual light relfection.
The center hull is smoothed, and looks great, but where it ties into the front is not, and looks jagged and doens't compliment the hull that you have established. The same with the rounded edges of the cargo pods. They're not really rounded at all and are jagged and don't really fit with the smoothed center.
It looks very good. I think for it's role in the game it's as detailed as it needs to be, maybe a little more work so you can be happy with it, but trade ships aren't really that big a deal during play, and less detail means less strain on the game when you have hundreds of em flying around.
I am pulling no punches with this mod, if you're working with a single core computer. This is not the mod for you haha.
Is this a Kowloon Class or a Athabasca Class freighter ?
Honestly I have no idea, the concept art i found just said freighter.
Kowloon is the smaller version of the Athabasca Class,so it really depends on the scale that the team will put it in
