The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.

Is it just me, or does anyone else spontaneously spark a smile when you see a DoTR update? Great texturing/modeling BTW, everything looks phenomenal.

I really hate to say this but I kinda liked the older "Dirty" Moddb.com texture than this one.
I am not saying this is a bad texture(It's great acutally) but it look's too clean for a warship.

These ships are brand new, coming right off the drydock. They are not going to look "Dirty." This is cerberus, this texture style was taken from the game itself.

Respectfully, is there is a way to change the texture to look "Dirty" after the ship became battle-hardened or damaged? That would look awesome.

can't ships in sins lvl up? If so can't you attach the look of the ship to it's respective lvl

My point exactly, Though I am not sure if anything less than a capital ship can level up. (Never acutally noticed that while playing)

Sins dont support that. Sins cant change the appear of ship as it level up. Only for ability. that all.

Ship looks nice, and it's supposed to, as mentioned, clean off the dry-dock. Adjusting textures is easy though, when it comes out, just find the textures folder, grab GIMP, and splash some dirt on it. =)

As a side note, one of the distinguishing factors of Mass effect from other Sci-fi universes is that all the ships and surfaces have a shiny texture (Except for JJ Abrams new Star Trek that's hyper shiny too).

i gotta say, this is better than the one in that link, more detail, I think this one may be the rebellion model, only downside is the cerberus insignia has too much orange, take the R down a notch or just 1.3 points and youll have that nice decent cerberus gold/yellow

Hmm, structurally there's not much difference between this texture and the former. So I'm a bit confused how you think there is more detail in this one.

Cerberus has always been my favorite faction, in both the games and will be in this mod. They are trying harder than anything to make humanity stronger. I suppose in this game TIM isn't indoctrinated, and that's something ^^ Cerberus was sort of somewhat good in ME2, though some of TIM's methods was a bit risky and extreme. I think I'll play as Cerberus right away when this mod comes out ^^

The illusive man was indoctrinated when he started cerberus, and before that too. theres a whole comic series about it

Actually, he was effected by pillar in the evolution series, any indoctrination effect (If there was any) it had on him was gone after the pillar was obliterated via orbital strike.

There are really people who actually agree with them? Cerberus are a bunch of xenophobic, jingoistic bigots. The central theme of ME is that only by working together do all the races have a chance of surviving. Cerberus and their 'humanity-first' agenda are doomed to failure. in addition to being morally and ethically repugnant. As presented in ME2 they don't seem all that bad, but once you start delving into the additional fluff it quickly becomes clear they're a bunch of genocidal madmen, and most of their people aren't aware of it because of the extreme compartmentalizing of Cerberus operations.

Spent all of Mass Effect one being treated like dirt by all the alien species, being ignored, under-estimated, and wanting to better one's races over another race is xenophobic and bigoted? I'd say that's the Council if you let the aliens run it for most of the games. From Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3, shizz got dumbed down, things like say "Hey, lets have a faceless group of evil people besides the reaper-cronies you can slaughter, people love that!", and thus, Cerberus went from being a deep faction with good intentions and misguided execution, to simply being Nazi's.
All I'm saying is if you hand me the button to push to blow up a bunch of arrogant, insensitive, annoying, incompetent aliens on their strongest battleship to leave humanity in a stronger position?
Yeah, I'd push that button twice! Watch the Ascension burn, woo!

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

Nothing got dumbed down. Cerberus was always evil, haven't you read the books? I also love that your solution to being treated like crap would be to side with the terrorists who have no problem killing millions of 'inferior' aliens if it furthers humanities interests, thus perpetuating a cycle of xenophobia and hatred on both sides that does nothing to solve any problems. Cooperation is what stops the cycle, rather than one dominating power. The Protheans tried a 'their interests first' approach. Ask them how it worked out.

Ya know according to Javik, It worked out fine until the Reaper intervened.

However that's not the point, the point is THIS IS A FREAKING GAME! We don't care if Cerberus murders thousands of people(Don't care if they killed trillions, its doesn't affects reality in any way ), we care that they fields awesome equipments and blow **** up with style! And in a action packed game universe, that's whats truly matters!

It would hardly be problem, you wouldn't even notice it in game (if you do then you are too superficial), especially when you got a fleet of these things ready to blow the enemy to hell.

Nice job.

I sorta liked the dirty approach to stuff in space which is why I tried that earlier. But if I don't have to texture it and they end up looking this clean, then by all means continue on ;)

I was curious what it might look like dirtied up a bit and with scratches on the paint. After skyline is done texturing I may make an alternative texture pack for Cerberus like this.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
skyline5gtr Author
skyline5gtr - - 392 comments

its because it has hull scaring and tearing on some of the paint. NEW ships would never come out of a factory like that, i love the dirty look, but i was going for brand spanking new

Reply Good karma+1 vote
ZombiesRus5
ZombiesRus5 - - 1,642 comments

I think they should all be textured the way you have done them as NEW. No problems with the approach. Like I said I was just curious and I "may" create an alternative texture pack, but the likely hood of doing this is very low. Plus I'm not sure if I'd really share it or not.
