Hey all Mario Kart Source waiters :)
We aren't dead, the mod is alive and we have new fresh things for you. The coding part is going forward thanks to the new coder : OneEyed. He is doing great job. He has already recoded the driving part and some movement like jump or drift. Anonymous is working on the HUD to fit it to the mario kart spirit.
The mapping is going fast too, some of the maps are finished and just need some tweaking. Doubledeck and Blockfort are as good as done, and the mapping crew is allready building maps from the GameQube games. Pictures and WIP's of the new maps wil be shown in the public in the next news post.

Really cool stuff, but I'm not to excited about the billionth game remake on source. Honestly I see no point in playing such a game in the source engine, still nonetheless nice work.

Good mod but I won't be surprised if nintendo send a legal cease and desist. You should always check legal feasibility before undergoing a project based on someone elses franchise. I've seen many mods die on here before. The Halo mod for c&c generals was one recent one.

Its not a remake. Its its own version. The only thing is that we are building from N64 version. We just have the battle levels form it cuase they are nicely made.

Looking nice! Used to play Mario Kart 64 all the time at my friends house (I've never owned a console).
Apparently, there are too many people who think graphics make a good game.
I don't think that statement had anything to do with graphics. He probably is just sick of seeing one remake after another. It is true that new is interesting and tends to be more interesting to fallow as well. I don't see what pointing that out has to do with graphics.
On to the topic, the media looks nice. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.
Remakes on Source is very nice, cause you just have to buy Half-Life 2, and then you have all the games you want :D! Very nice media, great work!

i think the only way this mod had a chance to not get immidiately c&d'd was to save all news for a release and get it on so many mirror that it'd be impossible to take down
Don't listen to the guy bashing the great mario cart. I say bring Goldeneye Source, and this mod forward! 64 Source games.

bf40k is right. You have a very big chance of getting C&D'ed, but you could always alter the faces of the characters themselves and make it sort of a parody/knockoff instead. Good luck, though.
