Got inspired to finally make a new reload animation for the AR-42. There could be some tweaking here and there, and it could be slightly faster, but all in all I got the hand animation and the weapon part movement pretty well synchronized!
Good motion with accurate and thoughtful reload animation, but this fella takes his time. For a combat situation I think it's a bit slow. Youtu.be
I might adjust it to be little faster and if it still proves to be too slow, its quite simple to remake the whole animation. :D
Yeah it is better with faster speed. Cut the reload time down to about 3 seconds. Slower speed was better for the animation showcase though.
You are right. In that way it was sure better to inspect the movement.
what ammo does it use? i take it those are bluefor weapons? do you have any plans for an opfor faction with modern/sci fi Eastern bloc variant guns?
Actually the BlackBird Salvage Corporation is set to the Opfor faction. This however does not really matter at all since they are just used to have opposite sides. Our design does not really follow the "traditional" Blufor/Opfor - West/East concept.
Current plans are to have 2 competing salvage corporations and 2 Old War nations that fought on the planet the corporate teams are now exploring. So 4 factions total with various conventional and unconventional weapons and equipment at their disposal.
AR-42 is rear fed 6mm caseless firing rifle with 30mm over barrel mounted multipurpose launcher. Due to the nature of the firing mechanism the gun is very short, but still benefits from a long. almost whole body length barrel.
It is excellent weapon for deep space salvage operations where you might end up exploring tight corridors and never know what is waiting behind the next corner.
About the "eastern" gun do you perhaps mean something like the AK series? Some guns might look/operate similar to some real life counterparts, but we aim to bring out new unique designs rather than make scifi versions of real guns.
