Does ArmA still do the old standby of one part breaks = fiery explosion? I haven't paid that much attention. If not, it'd be cool to see crash landings become survivable.

I think crash surviving is still very unlikely. Usually when a flyer takes enough damage to fall down hitting the ground tends to finish it off.

There could be ways to around this, maybe by increasing the overall health of flyers so that they dont immediately blow up when some of their systems get damaged.

I have survived a few crash landings actually... It really depends on the terrain you're falling at and the pilot skills... Crashing on trees is highly hazardous but if the pilot manage to slow the helo down enough, it might work.

If your a man, you crash via fiery explosion into the ground and burst out of the burning heap of scrap you crashed into the ground and raising your goddamn American banner and yelling MURICA at the top of your goddamn lungs while the scrap heap explodes once again in the background raising your badass levels.

So, now that the walker weapon system works, we've had some discussion on the walker usability and put down couple features all of them should have.

First of all we're changing the crew from 3 to 2 at least for the walkers of this size as the weapons can now be controlled by single operator.

Second thing is that to increase the overall viability we ruled down that all walkers should have 360 torso turning. Except maybe in special cases, but thats a different matter.

This affects the design of the WK-209 slightly as It was first designed as kind of frontal assault vehicle and the shape of the torso does clip in to the legs way too much if the torso is turned to the side and the torso is shaped so to accomodate the 3-man crew.
Now that the crew can be cut down to 2 the design is much easier to change for the 360 turning. Due to the nature how the walkers are built by knifing Arma engine there will be some clipping, but with little redesign we can minimize it.
