Summer holiday greetings!
Quick wip sneakpeek on the Gunship cockpit I've put together!
The light green interior represents the full awareness screen walls of the sealed cabin and there are some gauges and screens and spaces for switches and keyboards.
The overall design may change after I've tested how well it works in game and If there arises a need for more gauges or screens etc..
If my understanding is correct, and the interior wall is a full display of the craft's exterior, I might recommend reducing the obstructed area, else it looks like it'll serve little purpose.
Yes the idea is to be able to see through it. The main purpose is to have the pilot under a thick armored plate and still offer good visibility for the pilot SciFi style. As for the lack of clear canopy that is.
By obstructed area do you mean the control console? It is already quite low and the visibility forward is quite good, Better than in most fighter planes today anyway and the console would have to be a lot smaller to make visibility better I think.
Also the bottom sides of the chair and its rear will not have this screen wall, just did not yet have them separated. Don't think the pilot can turn about that much anyway. :D
Oh, I meant if the craft is designed for engaging ground targets. If it's meant for air-to-air engagements, then it looks like it'll afford plenty of visibility. But again, I'm not entirely certain what sort of FOV this will yield when viewing the ground, or if that will even have as much tactical benefit for ground with the operator viewing the screens.
Ah I understand now what you mean. I agree the console does block direct view down and front, but Modern helicopters/planes have even less visibility in that direction so I think it should suffice. The visibility directly to the front where the weapons are pointing is quite open and I would say even more than on modern aircrafts.
The view should be more than enough for the pilot to see the surroundings of the craft so not to crash into anything and it is meant more for that than spotting targets. Radar and sensor will do that long before they are visible to the eye.
Goddamn it HorribleGoat your missing one critical feature! A GODDAMN CUP HOLDER! SHAME ON YOU SIR SHAME ON YOU! Do you expect our pilots to hold their beverages with one hand while piloting the gunship with the other? WHAT SORT OF BLASPHEMY IS THIS!? I demand you go back to the drawing board and fit in one right now! On a serious note well done.
Yessss Master! Yessss Righ away Master! Maybe the pilots will have a inbuilt drink storage in their suits..
There are people serious about this in warframe right now. I weep for spaceninja sim 2015.
Really? I shouldn't be surprised.. Internet age..
Honestly these days I am not surprised by how humanity can be INCREDIBLY stupid at times. The internet is just a great way to broadcast. Example McIntosh. If you don't know who that is. Do yourself a favor and do NOT look him up. The amount of stupid just makes you either want to facepalm yourself so hard your knocked out several hours or you want to find out where he lives and brutally murder him or get his brain fixed via shock treatment.
