Greetings!
Been a while since I've last posted anything, but had a little spare time to start updating the map config for the new A3 1.6 lighting engine update.
Here is a shot from nice morning stroll in the jungle.
Got a basic lighting setup in order, though it will need a lot of tweaking to make it believable. The green tint is intentional since the planet is not earth and I wanted to play with the "alien world" concept.
Also darkened the plant and grass textures a bit and I think they look quite nice right now. Going to need more different plants though
That's awesome keep it up !
Thank you sir! Will do.
Nice departure from stark greys and browns.
Thanks! Though the skies are quite grey at the moment.. :9 Trying to find a good color other than normal earthy blue.
a good purple blue with stars might work
Purple had too much contrast with the greens. Or I just don't yet know all the variables that would need to be changed. The current green-greyish sky will stay for now. If I figure out a better color then I'll look it over again.
The Arma 3 apex dlc will be soon released, so you can maybe use their jungle plants?
We could sure, but our goal is to make wholly new plants so that the jungle would be properly alien. Im sure though that Tanoa plants will be great source of inspiration!
Nice green tints, but it misses some sharper shadows in my opinion ;)
Yeah it does, doesn't it. Unfortunately im not sure if more can be achieved with Armas lighting engine. Have to check out Tanoas ligting settings and jungles when its released to see if they've done something better there. (too lazy to switch to dev branch just for that.. x9)
I believe Tanoa will add much to optimization and engine. So far the jungle looks just gorgeous and AO has been greatly achieved
Sounds excellent! Have to dig into that when we continue with new plant assets.
