By the way I am not sure if this was asked before, but what about vision distance in stancia level? I really disliked how in original Shadow of Chernobyl stancia level did look with its default foggy weather settings. A few months later i played Oblivion Lost mod and everything looked perfect in stancia - 100% clear weather, I could see every building at far distance. This screenshot looks better than original SoC, but I think there should be visible more details in the background. I'm just curious about weather settings in this level

Each map has 24hr cycle, and we can't allow more vision distance, than this one (this one is extreme already, currently game can not run in dx9 mode on some levels, such as this one), otherwise soc engine can't take it (crashes upon level loading). Don't forget, these maps have 4-5x more details than SoC maps, not to mention that stancia is not separated to 2 parts as in final SoC...

dezodor would you please tell us why as you said some levels can't run on DX9 mode? Because of performance? On what PC do you test your maps (just curious) and will be PC requirements higher then original SoC?
Thx.

PS
Please create atmospheric mod like CoP was closer then ever. To see realistic NPC's behavior will be great =)

And do you have some bonuses for those persons who want to donate for your work?

As i said it's all about engine limitations of SoC. Engine is the game's engine, not your pc, so no matter how strong pc you have, it does not count. Currently swamp, darkdolina, darkscape, stancia has issues in dx9 mode if you play the game with settings maxxed and hd resolution. This can not be fixed, the only way to play those levels is: reduce graphics quality, and view distance until you leave the area.

Anyway my pc is: gigabyte ep45-ud3lr mainboard, 4gb ram at 1066mhz (dual channel mode), sapphire ati hd5770 with 1gb ddr3...

about pc recommendations: it needs defnitely better pc than SoC needed, but if you can play CoP in max or good quality, then LA will run fine too :)

Ya, I could play CS and CoP on maximum settings only with static lighting hopefully I can play this game on static lighting too without having to upgrade my pc again :)

Ok last time i played stalker SOC i had 75 hours.

I can see even now, that with this mod it will be like 175 hours =D

Im looking forward to explore every square game meter of each map !

About those maps uncapable to run in dx9.

does it mean that when you make it run later with some optimalisations in dx9 It will test some PCs?

Om my gosh! This looks so much better then the orignial Stancia. Look at the details, extra straicases and I'm curious about wether we might be able to climb the crane... But on second thought... why? THis just looks absolutely stunning!

I can play the whole LA in dx8 mode. I think it even adds to gameplay experience. Will it be possible to climb this high chimney (visible in far distance) like in alpha builds? Not really needed for the gameplay, but t'was fun to get there and make some screenshots ;)
