The Brunswickers were in Austrian service when the mod starts. Around the middle of 1809 they fought their way to the coast and began to serve under the British.

A few screenshots back you'll see the Prussian Leib Hussars, who also wore black uniforms and death's heads on their shakoes. They were unrelated to the Brunswickers, though, save for both being German.
