I apologize if this is the wrong type of suggestion as a seperate thread, but looking at the length of the bloody thing, I decided to give this one its own.

Here is something cool that I found to be an awesome feature in the old and sadly dead "1776 American Revolution" mod.

The ability to customize the uniforms and armaments for soldiers that you can hire on the map. The system was simple and easy-to-understand: You would select the given soldier in the party menu and then select an option that allowed you to see and select their equipment. And then you had instead of the character sheet for companions on the left side of the screen another menu similar to a second inventory screen; A "Pool" if you will, from wich the soldiers of that unit and skill level that you are editing right now draw their equipment from.

For example: I put in that menu a bearskin hat with a greatcoat and some blue breeches. Now all soldiers of that type will wear bearskin, greatcoat and breeches. If I want to mix them up a little, I put two sets of clothing in: Bearskin and shako, greatcoat and frock and a pair of slops and the breeches. Now the soldiers will wear a randomized "either or" thing, e.g. some soldiers will wear bearskin, greatcoat and slops while others will have shako frock and slops or shako greatcoat and breeches.

Same with the Armament: If you only supply your custom unit with muskets they will use only that type of musket, if you give them pistols to the muskets they will use them depending on when they are appropiate. Rifles/pistols and smallswords, you know the Idea. Switching to the most efficient weapon in a given situation is one of the few things that Mount and Blade NPCs seem to be handling quite nice most of the time. (except when it comes to damn throwing knives)

It's not something that "HAS TO BE ADDED for imediately 'cuz lolz" but I personally would love to see a fortress being heroically charged by "GERSillySausages Own Death's Head Pistoleers" without having to go into the meat'n'grit of clumsily changing around game files.

So, let me know what you think! If you would like to see this feature, if It can actually be done, how and when, that sort of thing. I would also love for Docm30 to step by here and look at this mess of text. heh. Cheers! Cheers for L'aigle!
