I'm having trouble right now fighting against a few certain French commanders , particularly one named Antoine-Charles-Lois Lasalle since they field a large number of elite/guard Hussars, Cuirassers, and Chasseur a Cheval. (Lasalle in particular has over 100 cavalry in his army of 180. I've tried facing them with massed cavalry of my own, but either I'm an incompetent cavalry commander, or the French cavalry simply outclasses anything I can recruit from Britain, Prussia, or Austria. (Russia is an option, but I'd really rather not trek all the way there.) I've tried massed line infantry, but after the first few volleys kill maybe 10-20 enemies, the remaining 80 just roll over me. Light infantry and riflemen recieve the same fate. I've tried combined arms tactics, where my line infantry repeat the steps from above and hold the cavalry in place, my riflemen pick them off from a hill nearby, and my cavalry swings around to attack them in the rear. This goes somewhat well for a while, but after the third wave of enemy reinforcements arrives, still made up of elite/guard cavalry, while my men are still engaged with the second wave, everything falls apart. My army is large enough, with over 140 men, and they're all high-rank units as well. My line is made up of Highland Guard Fusiliers and Prussian guard grenadiers, I have over 30 95th and 60th riflemen, and veteran British/Prussian Hussars, as well as some British Dragoons.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or am I just going to have to grind to rank up until I can just drown the enemy in Highland Fusiliers?

Ive been playing this mod quite abit in my freetime aswell as a series on my YouTube channel, and ive found quite a few things useful against enemies such as Antoine-Charles-Lois. When I first start playing this game my first mission is to ally myself with a nation, ive allied myself with Prussia, just useful to be able to field larger amount of men due to millitary field promotions, currently a Sgt. Major, I have enough money to buy a commision but I think I shall wait. Anyway I digress, ive found that having a set of 12 lb-ers, around 30-40 calvery of my own, preferably heavy Prussian, and everyone else as Line infantry. As the enemy calvery is charging the cannon will take out a few (5-15) as the calvery get into infantry musket range have them fire a volley (I neglected to mention to put your infantry on manual fire commands) so as the infantry are reloading the enemy calvery is still closing, tell your calvery to charge (Also neglected to mention position your clavery on to the left or right of your infantry so lest they be slowed by having to pass through your infantry) your calvery and theres will begin fighting. By this time your infantry has reloaded, tell them to volley one more time than set them to fire at will and charge yourself into the calvery skirmish (if you have a mount that is)

P.S. If you are ever in Prussia there is a double barrled pistol that has the same reload as a normal single barrel with the accuracy of a High Quality pistol. One shot kills most people. Hope this Helped!
