Konstruct is a modification for Halflife2 where you build structures using the anti-gravity tools and the resources you spawn with. Your team must reach a goal in an allotted round time. You can pass objects (boxes, barrels etc…) up too your teammates using the anti gravity tools you are given.
Konstruct is designed around the idea of getting to a goal first, and advancing to the next. Teamwork is a huge part of this mod. As the team(s) advance(s) up through the tall maps and reach their goals, they can stop along the way to pick up extra resources which are sometimes vital. The resources arent easy to get. There will be plenty of puzzles and traps to slow the teams down on their way to the top. Possibly falling objects from above.
The point of Konstruct isn’t simply to get the goal and stop, but to advance to the next level with your team, and try to tackle harder and more complex rounds/levels.
The maps will be divided into sections, which will provide room for players to leave or join the current game. Each map will have 3 to 4 rounds in which the players will have to select team captains, a plan, and player assignments.

What exactly are "connectors"?

I would think the problem would be keeping the teams separated long enough for them to actually build anything. From the sound of it, you're wanting it to be a lot of vertical building, but if one player from the other team comes even for a moment with his physgun and just takes out one of the ground supports and starts slinging it around wildly...?

Anyway, I've been tossing around some map ideas if nothing else. Check your mail, I want to help test it out for you! :)

So far in the mod document ive been working on, I have team captains that will distribute connectors. They will be voted into the position in the planning stage of the game (which takes place before each round, 1 minute round). Using voice communication, the other players will decide who is worthy of the job.
I was thinking about giving the team captains the power to boot players from the team. The team captains already have the power to limit the distribution of connectors. If there is some crazy 15yo with an uncontrolable physgun the captain will have the option of limiting that players connectors. What do you think?
If the player still creates problems, it will be the job of the other team members to vote him off the team.
I was thinking about giving the team captain the power to accept another player during the round to fill in for the lost player.

Also, I know alot of multiplayer games are based on the different teams interacting with eachother. Other mods, like Sven Co-op are based on team play agains aliens, and other creatures in halflife. Creating some incentive for the players to reach the goal with little interaction with other teams is going to be hard. Just getting there before the other team isnt enough im afraid. I am currently working on some additional elements to the mod that will allow more interaction between the two opposing teams.
