This is just a very general mod devoted to things that i think should be in games. Specifiically stuff ninja-ish, but there is other stuff as well. I am working on a model of Dolph lundgren to be a player model, and im working on ideas for others. Ive made a throwing star and a katana, and im working on other weapon/environmental models. My brother is working on the coding, but if anyoine is interested in helpin us out in anyway by becoming part of the team of the Kninja mod, by all means just email me!

How about you change the status of the mod to "UNFINISHED AND NEVER WILL BE BECAUSE THE MEMBERS OF THIS MOD SHAMELESSLY LIE ABOUT THEIR STATUS IN ORDER TO BRING ATTENTION TO THEM"

Natace, pick up some books and start reading. Choscura, you as well is partially correct concerning the moral standpoint of the ninjas as they were most of the time utilized as assassins (as i previously mentioned) and spies. The nindo however (or ninpo) could have at the point of time when the ninjas were utlized been speculated to be a professionals way (like a job ethic, x: dont kill your client, dont ask questions+++ integrate all this into a "do" and you get the picture) and is completely different then the bushido, which was as also mentioned somewhere on this page, a codex of honor+. And regarding ninjutsu and other forms of martial arts (japanese esp.), they were "watered out" after the revolution. Dezloc is completely right by the way.

natace... you know that tae kwon do is korean right? you also know that like many other spying "organizations" there is not too many facts about them... they don't exist because their identities or doings are not reported? think a while... more... even more... you must got it now... do you really think that NSA in the USA doesn't exist? no one knows who they are but even so they are pretty real.
now... at the begining, ninja were priests that practised the art of nonuse. they were pacific and they needed a way to avoid confrontations and nonuse (martial art of stealthing) was their specialty. after several years, with the combat against emperors, spies and assassins were needed and they turned to nonuse practicioners... they were real... but they were mostly unknowned and yes, the movies boost the idea a bit.

Alofe...maybe you shoudl read what I said, because I didnt quote what was said exactly, and at the time, it didnt really interest me, so what I said is most likely not what my master did say, but Ninja's are a ******* TV character, research it, and don't research the myths made up by people, because you should take a look at the very first ninja movie to be made...it says it all

You all watch too many movies and crap..
Do you know what a Ninja is?!
A Ninja is something that was made 20 or so years ago for entertainment purposes on TV!!
The Ninja was supposed to be some elite form of Samurai...that's all.
When i was watching The Last Samurai with my friends and you see them guys climbing up the building at night time...my friends were like "haha, go the ninja's"....so i just laughed at them and said that they werent ninja's.
Now i'm no whiz at all of this, but I have only been training in the art of Tae Kwon Do for 2 and a bit years now, and my Master Instructor has been training in Tae Kwon Do for 30 years or so, he has studied all sorts of these things and him aswell as another person in at my Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido/whatever else school sat down and asked everyone if they knew how long ninja's existed for...EVERYBODY said random numbers into the hundreds of year, and so we were told what they really were...that was a while ago so i have almost completely forgotten exactly what i was told about them. My parents, who are almost 50 years old clarrified what my master instructor said, as they hadn't heard of Ninja's until some ninja movie was released (yet again, i have no idea what it was).

BUT...ninja's are BULL SH*T, they are a myth, nothing but a myth, the Ninja is movie character...and because of stupid movies, and the lack of history being taught to our generation, everyone thinks Ninja's are real..everyone wants to be like Ninja's and do the cool things they do....when Ninja's are just like Santa Claus, they are a MYTH.

NOW, about this mod...isnt this apparently released?

I seriously have a hard time believing anyone that can't spell samurai or jutsu correctly, so let me throw out some thing here from my 'Bible of *** Kicking'.

Ninjutsu as it is is used primarily in the doctrine of bujutsu to identify it easily as the 'Ninja Techniques'. However, 'Ninjutsu' (The art of stealth), only covers a portion of the tactics employed by it's followers, the ninja. There are specialized subsections, such as toiri-no-jutsu, which deals primarily with infiltration of heavily guarded castles and centers, as well as chikairi-no-jutsu, which includes being able to slip through enemy lines even in open warfare.

The criminals aspect isn't true by default, as Ninja lived primarily as mercenaries. They did what they were paid to do, no questions asked, or so I'd assume. While NInja themselves weren't criminal, it was their actions they were used for. Especially considering the fact that Ninja didn't follow Bushido, which is heavily influenced by honor. As such, large ninja families tended to sometimes specialize in certain aspects of ninjary (the most fantastic term ever), and were worth a pretty penny for their services.

Beyond this, they used a massive maount of weapons, and were universally efficient with all of them, completely independant of their clans subspecialization (ie: the Fudo ryu and their incredible use of iaijutsu), among these weapons are spikes, caltrops, brass knuckles, shuriken, kyotetsu-shoge, and later on, even guns. This isn't the end of it, oh no. They were also basic psychologists (to facilitate understanding of basic human reaction to certain factors), chemists (to employ various flash/smoke powders, poisons, acid-spurting tubes), as well as owners of an impressive array of survival tools to complete anything they would need to.

Aside from this, they also knew how to fight. Very well, in fact, especially jujutsu, and some clans, yubijutsu and koppo. They needed to. It was either they fought off as many people as needed, or they died, and of course living always took precedence. It's also suggested that along with their practical knowledge of psychology, that they were also adept at sleight of hand and hypnotism when needed to be.

A few other things I find funny is general misconceptions:

1) This is the first time I've heard the dishonored samurai line. Good job on trying to act jaded.

2) Ninjutsu is based on much older chinese courses and actions of subterfuge and stealth, which is largely traced back to Sun Tzu's 'Art of War', and had been adapted into a Japanese style, as was extremely popular. Many people tend to either not know, or simply ignore that a large number of Japanese fighting styles were influenced by Chinese ones. Even Samurai for many generations travelled across to China to learn there.

3) Jutsu translates as art. Retard. You know who you are. Bujutsu is the offical 'Warrior's Art', Bushido is the 'Way of the Warrior', which was the honor code Samurai followed within their ranks, which were in all reality the military forces.

4) 'Cutting people in half just to test a blade.' Well true, but for that they'd need to be practitioners of iaijutsu, while not difficult to be trained in, would of course require one to be better than their opponent. Alessandro Valignano, one of the first Western observers of Feudal Japan, was marvelled at how they could kill with the first or second blow with this art. As well as others, who would call it 'treacherous', as it was occasionally misused. These 'crossroad cuttings' were usually against other warriors, or heimin (commoners). The only time it was ever truly accepted is against another practitioner of Iaijutsu, as they are trained to react instantly to iaijutsu in order to counterattack.

5) Ninjas would totally smack a samurai in the face with a bag of powder and commit seppuku unto him.
