Killing Floor is a survival horror total conversion set in London, England. In a laboratory under the city, a series of human experiments in cloning and biological augmentation are being conducted by the employees of "Horizon". Horizon is a BioTech corporation formerly employed by the government to do the R&D on a top secret series of synthetic combat drugs which would enhance the effectiveness of soldiers in the field. Horizon's funding was cut, when their practices were deemed too immoral even for such a controversial project, but the research didn't stop. Funded by private money from the deep pockets of Horizon chairman and research scientist Kevin Clamely, tests continued in a more...private location. That was until something went wrong. There were reports that the lab had been comprimised; that the subjects were behaving abnormally...then, silence. Several days later, twisted shapes began to emerge from the confines of the lab into the city above.

I am in the process of doing ALOT of things right now (seeing as i am the only artist once again after Salvo's retirement, but one of these is the creation of a new HUD

Here's an early work in progress shot of this.

Above that, i've finally managed to get some proper "attack" animations for the Infected bots, so they are now fightable with the Arena mutator (to make sure they stick with melee weapons)

Regarding gameplay, i've been discussing things with my coder who is VERY active in helping with the mod, and churning out great new stuff. (He's already got a very slick reloading system for the weapons, and he's digging right into other stuff..) But there will be a system in the mod called "Instinct" which functions both for the Survivor team and the Infected.

Here's the skinny: If an infected player kills a survivor player, he will gain a temporary boost to speed, damage resistance, and attack rate putting him in a state of bloodlust. The flipside of this is that when Infected players are not "feeding" on human flesh, they will begin to slowly waste away, losing hitpoints over time until they become sitting targets. Extensive camping, therefore is not an option if you play as an Infected.

Survivors utilize the "Instinct" system as well, but in a different way. For each Infected kill a Survivor manages to get, or each objective that is accomplished, the Survivors' statistics will improve. Now this is all under the hood mind you, no annoying RPG stat points..But lets say you ice a zombie with a shotgun...The next time you crack off a round, you will be firing a BIT straighter, and reloading a bit faster. ;)

Anyway, things are taking shape, so expect good things in the coming weeks :)
