Some context:
The Nod's Harvester is the only Harvester that still tends to go to sleep even after I've applied the fix that works on all of the other factions' Harvesters,
That happened because EA rear harvest code is bugged and tend to make the harvester to go to sleep once there are too many units in the field and your silos are full.
Personally I likes the Nod Harvester model and rather keep it as it is, but I want to know what people thinks, I wish I had some modeller who could change the reapers position and animation so they could be at the front cause I don't think I can do it alone,
And overall I like how unique that Harvester by doing things different than the other factions by harvest form the rear, really shame that EA left that code broken to begin with ;/
Can the Harvester not be fixed using its Current Model?
I've noticed how the NOD Harvester moves up to a piece of Tiberian/Tiberium and uses a two-phase Approach. Moving up to the Piece, and then Adjusting its position to align the Claws. This is where it's getting into a pickle, as it has to move twice for the same item.
Talking of Harvesters, it would be nice to see ZOCOM using a VTOL Harvester. There are some posters issued by EA that have the VTOL Harvester, and the Original Texture File for the VTOL Harvester still exists in the Texture Files.
If there is a Model somewhere for the VTOL Harvester, it would be nice.
Even if ZOCOM wasn't the Exclusive User for that Harvester, maybe it could be Included as some sort of Advanced Harvester.
i dont know how weird it looks harvesting from the front. but the gameplay matters much in my opinion so i wish at least to see this change made. and if it really looks ackward, you can revert the change back to how it was. normally i dont mind to see another model of nod harvester but its up to you, if you can and have the time to do that. it might be worth it. Lets first test our possibilities to find the best solution.
In my opinion gameplay is more important than aesthethics when it's something as important as your income.
It would be preferable if the model was somehow fixed (or replaced with a similar lore-friendly harvester), but if nothing works then let them harvest from the front, even if it looks weird.
As it has been said, I also roll with the idea that gameplay is a lot more important.
For starters I would probably just do it so that they harvest from the start even if it looks weird and eventually figure out what to do with the model.
Someone from my team almost had some breakthrough solving that bug but then they hit a wall Dx
That was also why I didn't replied on that bug till now,
Now need to think if I should really go with adjusting the model or just fix it while keep it as is
