Kane's Wrath Unofficial Big Bang Patch 1.04 is a mod that adds few new things and tries to balances the game a bit more from my and the community ideas while at the same time also tries to save the most import ingredient at bay: The "fun".
Some failed experiment I tried~

what exactly failed? Kinda looks like it would work.
I don't really have vast knowledge at max and don't sure how to attach the sub-objects the same way EA's done, so instead I place the sub-object, save it separately, and uses the game's engine to load it and attach it to the right bone, which look kind of the same,
However some structures like the Nod's tir 1 defenses which revives themselves, don't really work well when using that method, since the sub-objects aren't attached to the main object EA's style, they won't fall or disappear when the cannon does (since it won't die until the player kill the hub), so it resulting in "hover" sub objects that just stay there until the hub will be destroy....
Hope I explained it in understandable way :/
ah, I see. Yeah, getting these things to work with animations sucks.
