The binary (the executable code of the game) files for Jedi Knight Galaxies v1.3.22a for Mac. This is most frequently updated part of JKG, it contains the game's logic and instructions. You will also need the assets as well to play. To install, unzip the jkgalaxies-v1.3.22a_osx.zip archive, then drag and drop the jkgalaxies/ directory into your Jedi Academy folder (the folder which contains the base/ folder). If you have a previous installation of JKG, just replace the jkgalaxies directory with the one in the zip.
Binaries for JKG v1.3.22a
This download contains the executable binaries for the Mac version of JKG. It will allow you to play the game on OSX 10.6 and above, after also installing the assets. This contains the game's logic and instructions. The assets contain the game's artwork, models, music, data, etc. Both are required to play. Refer to the instructions below to install or watch this video (please note that the OSX install works slightly differently). You will most likely also want to install the extra map packs. If you are looking for the source code, you can find it on Github. To keep JKG up to date, or try out the latest beta version, we recommend checking the Jedi Knight Galaxies webpage.
Instructions for Install
After ensuring Jedi Academy is installed, and downloading the binaries and assets for your operating system you are ready to install. These instructions are also available in the readme provided with each release.
First, navigate to your Jedi Academy install's GameData folder. The GameData folder is typically in the following location if you have Steam: 'SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\GameData'. Other types of installs will have a similar location.
Then from the downoaded zip binary, drag and drop the jkgalaxies directory (the one the readme is alongside) into Jedi Academy's GameData folder. If you have a previous installation of JKG, just replace the jkgalaxies directory with the one in the zip (if you have a really old version of JKG, you'll likely want to just install from scratch). Your directory structure should look like this when installed:
First extract or unzip the jkgalaxies-V1.3.22a_osx.zip archive, then drag and
drop the jkgalaxies/ directory (the one this readme is inside) into your Jedi
Academy folder (the folder which contains the base/ folder). If you have a
previous installation of JKG, just replace the jkgalaxies directory with the
one in the zip. Your directory structure should look like this:
--- Jedi Academy (or Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy if on a CD game)
|
|----base/
|
|----jkgalaxies/
| |
| |--- JKG/
| |
| |--- RunJKGalaxies
| |
| |--- jkgalaxies.x86_64
| |
| |--- etc. etc.
Now that you have created the jkgalaxies folder and placed the binaries inside, you will need to add the assets as well. Unzip the contents of the assets zip downloaded and copy the contents (everything inside the folder that contains the readme) into the JKG folder located inside the jkgalaxies folder. Then you're ready to play. If you need a different version or want to compile it from source, please check the main download page here.
