Unlimited_X MOD is a modification based on Homeworld 2. It will set up a new world for the players - new storyline and background infomation, new races, new maps and new effects.. etc. UXMOD will just has a develop team of one moder. It's somehow a "private" mod containing the moder's imagination.

I think it's time to explain what the UXMOD is about. This news includes the main aims of UXMOD as well as the developing plan.

Emm.. now I've been planing making UXMOD for about a year. As I'm making progress, the ideas and aims of UXMOD are also changing - At the very beginning, I just wanted to make a mod which adds new ships and fxs to Hgn and Vgr. Then, as I keep making new ships, I slowly changed my idea about this mod. I decided to add in new races and new storyline which comes from my imagination. As I got more knowledge as well as experience in scripting, modelling and texturing, it became possible for me to make a new singleplayer campaign,new fxs,new NIS and many many things I would never imagine before. And now I've set up the short-term aims of UXMOD, and hope these could let you know what I'll do in a few months :)

Right now, the main aim is:

New Story.

As I want to set up a new world in UXMOD, I do regard storyline as the most important part of all. This includes many things but not just a new campaign - there'll be new background infomations for each new ship and new races. Also, the NIS and CG movies between each level are very important - of course, it'll take a lot of time to do them. But I do want to make them - it will really bring in the feeling of enjoying a new storyline but not just shooting at all enemy targets meaninglessly in the new levels. For me, a good sp campaign should makes the player feel as if they're 'in' the story.For the new story, there are some parts need to be explain:

* Brand New races.

Right now, I'm going to bring in 2 new races from my imagination - The FoSS and the CoJ. (Sorry, but I can't provide more infomation about them as it has something to do with the storyline:p) They're brand new races, so I'll spend most of my time for now working on them. After the first release of V0.45, you will know more about them:)

* Original HW races.

For the original HW races, now I've decided to bring in Kadesh and Bentusi. Of course they will appear in the new storyline, and I'll try my best to make the new models follow their orginal feeling(Also, for Hgn & Vgr it's the same). But I do think I'll add my own thoughts in them so just wait and see:)

These are already really much work for me. As a solo-developing 'team', I have to face the fact that I don't have that much time for everything - But I will try my best to make UXMOD better. And for now, there is no doubt that I'll concentrate all my effort on the new storyline and new races.Emm, I think that's all I want to say.

I'm trying to set a new art style for the new races and new storyline apart from the original HW art style. Some of my backgrounds (like the starfield I recently did) follows this aim as well.
