Cool, but the carbine model is wrong.
The paratroopers used the M1A1 carbine instead of the M1 carbine.

I disagree. Although U.S. paratroopers did carry the M1A1 Carbine folding stock weapon, it was not the only Carbine that they carried into battle. They also carried the standard full-stock M1 Carbine. Think about it. If U.S. paratroopers carried the M1 Garand into battle (which they did) then wouldn’t it stand to reason that they would also carry the smaller and lighter full-stock M1 Carbine into battle as well?

So although the folding stock Carbine was designed with the paratrooper in mind, not all paratroopers utilized M1A1 Carbine’s, and some were issued standard (full-stock) M1 Carbines instead. In addition, the M1A1 Carbine was not only carried by paratroopers, it also found its way into non airborne units during the war as well.

Here is an article that might shed some light on this subject for you.

If that’s not enough, here is a pic of a paratrooper carrying the M1 Carbine wooden stock version into battle just before the jump. Notice the weapon of the first soldier on the left.

There are lots of M1A1’s in the mod and you will definitely see it in game. The weapons file is issuing Carbines to the American soldiers at random so It’s just a coincident that the M1A1 is not in view in this clip. :)

Well, you're right!
I just have got sort of a reenactor's mind: "if something is rare or uncommon, don't use it!"
But this is just how I think and you proved me that I was wrong about the M1 carbines to paratroopers.
Thanks for the info!

101st Airborne as well? Stop! Next thing you know, there will be WWII non-nerds all over my house asking me stupid questions when I'm trying to play.

Description

In this clip of “The Battle of Cherbourg” There are German soldiers just off camera that are rushing the American soldiers. The Germans are so close that the American soldier with the bazooka has to switch to his secondary weapon. Notice the American soldier toss his bazooka to the ground and take the M1 Carbine off of his back and use it instead of blowing everyone up including his self with the bazooka.
