well this is the halcyon with the frigate merge, so yeah creativity from the Halo developers went down. but none the less the design looks great

In their defense, post dreadnought battleship designs hardly changed that much

This can't be real. I remember that Devs team was... unimpressed by this kitbash.

Did you change your mind or something?

honestly it looks more like a marathon with a bit of frigate, the halcyon does not have the cut ins towards the rear

Is this upgrade just on appearance or will this ship get new set of skills?

A disgusting kitbash is coming to see the light now... I like this idea. This ship looks great.

Your own Valiant quadrate design is good too, but here... I guess you've made a right choice. Though, what will be with old design?

And I thought you guys said that youre keeping your Valiant model...this is just another copy and paste of other ships, atleast for once stick to what u say and not like "we hate this but were gonna put it in 3 weeks later"...

They changed the ship's design at the last minute before opening it for pre-sale. I actually spoke with Ken Peters from 343 about it. The design change makes the Valiant one of the better HFB ships and we think it's fair to add the ship in since they had the chutzpah to address some of our concerns with the original model and change it after they'd already shown it publicly. That's a hard thing to do.

Hellstormer, I'm going to copy here what I said when I shared the Epoch model with the HFB community a little while ago.

"We've decided to add the Epoch to SotP.

So, why did this take place after I was so vocal about my issues with the ship?

Our lead 3D artist, who goes by the name Malcontent1692, picked up Fleet Battles over the holiday break. After getting his hands on the physical Epoch he felt that the ship wasn't as bad as we had originally thought, so he modeled a quick draft of the ship and threw it into the mod. He took shots of the ship participating in fleet engagements and shared them with the team and to be quite honest it looked the part.

This kick-started a discussion of how on earth we would even add another carrier to the UNSC roster, because the UNSC is plum full of carriers. We eventually settled on a role that respects the stats listed in Fleet Battles (light MAC, good missiles, good armor, carrier action) and places it in a tanky carrier role where it has staying power, but the alpha strike is a little weak.

This is also the result of a little soul-searching. We are going to try to be more tactful and respectful with the work Spartan Games is doing in the future, because at the end of the day we're all here for the same reason: We love the ships of the Halo universe and we want to get our hands on them in some tangible way.

I hope this ship can be an olive branch between our two communities."

I always thought you guys were harsh to Spartan games ship design, I'm glad for the change of heart. I think I'm catch flak for this question, will you guys take another look at the Spartan games Punic class and I know that your Punic class redesign but I'm just curious.

And now it's time to get your hands on physical Punic-class (Aka as "Space Bus") and finish the line of Halo Fleet Battles ships.

Though, your own Punic design looks more appropriate for a carrier...by Halo standards.

Description

"The Valiant-class had the tonnage and firepower to augment battle groups composed of smaller vessels on patrols, as well as the space to install flag bridge facilities demanded by admirals leading the expeditionary operations.

The Valiant and a handful of other super-heavy cruiser spaceframes were converted into command ships; the most famous of these refurbished vessels was the Everest, fated to be the flagship of the legendary Vice Admiral Preston Cole."

(Credit to Malcontent1692 for the model, texture coming soon!)
