This is pretty great. Now if only we could have a graph to compare the Covenant to the UNSC ships. :)

Still all hail to ElijahBI for such a great poster/background etc.

Covenant will come later. May wait to have a few more ships finished. Not sure.

Ok no problem. As long as we get to compare the two sides ships side by side it will be a nice present to us all I believe.

Sci-fi writers have no sense of scale. Not that I'm complaining, mind, but when even the 'tiny' frigates are bigger than modern aircraft carriers you really have to take a step back. The degree of metal needed to build something like the Cradle boggles the mind.

With mining drones and orbital foundries that wouldn't even be that crazy to get the metal if you're in the asteroid belt and on small moons.

Space is really friggen big though. It's not like they're getting all the resources from a single planet, and there's plenty of room to build something like this.

Consider though that the materials are coming from numerous planets, asteroids, moons, and recycled from older ships. It kinda balances its self out.

It also acts more like a mobile repair space station then any type of combat ship/normal ship...

Though it could use some defensive gun placements/mass driver placements, it's basically a space station.

I'm still confused why you aren't just thumbing your nose at the "lore" name and keeping with what you guys named it.

Though this does bring to mind how disproportionately huge the engine area of the Thermopylae is to the rest of the UNSC fleet's ship to engine ratio. Shaving off the bottom two thrusters would make it look normal, but I guess the UNSC doesn't really mind having unnecessarily large amounts of thrust.

Will the cradle-class texture be remade? Just noticed how abnormally large the viewports are.

The big viewports are there so that many engineers/repairmen can view a damaged ship at many different angles and survey what needs to be repaired.

A massive repair barge, sadly it has no offensive systems. (You should have seen my ideas for it though, they were a bit OP lol)

This is a small quibble, but I feel the need to point out that there's no way the Pelican is 30 meters long - that's over 90 feet! If it was actually that long it would be able to fit way more than the 14 or so Marines that it actually can.

Well it's what's on Halopedia

And less than half of the vehicle length is dedicated for the crew and carrying space. The rest is for the massive engines and supporting mechanisms

You can see a graphic of the actual accessible area in a Pelican here: Halopedia.org

Wow...I imagined the Infinity to be about twice the size of what is shown on the picture..sure it dwarfs a Halcyon..I confess I didn't check the sizes from the books but is its size relative to the other ships really that small? Or is it really just me xD?
