Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, putting the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and providing a balanced and competative experience.
2nd Attempt at re-creating the awesome track from Halo CE and Halo 3. Far better than my last version that was posted. Made using Eastwest QL Orchestra and put together in FL Studio.
Still WIP, just need to edit a few more things before it is finished.
Please leave feedback if you have any questions or ideas. Enjoy!
I gotta say dude.. No offense, but MIDI sounding music doesn't blend well with the quality work you've done thus far in the modeling and gameplay department.
Not only that but it's sharp and really just makes me want to listen to the original. Which I wouldn't be suprised if some people just turn off the music and listen to the actual OST on Youtube or something.
Inb4 white knights.
This is pretty okay for what you're capable of doing. Although, Murderdevil is right. Just use the actual soundtrack.
They can't do that, it would be a copyright infringement and would cause Microsoft or whoever to close the mod.
People can use Halo soundtrack in Machinima. If I remember correctly, it can be used in all non-profit fan-made projects.
Only a few from Halo 3. The other Halo games have copyright protection. We have already been contacted from MS about copyright regarding using the name "Halo". We are not going to risk it happening again by using something directly from one of the games.
wtf... i get MS wants to protect their brand, but come on this would only strengthen their brand. But I suppose the advantage is that you guys could come up with something along the same flavour but better
Halo sound tracks are under a different licensing agreement. One of the games (unsure which right now, either 1 or 3) comes under the standard content usage agreement, none of the others do.
Yeah I hate what happened now, the mod isn't even called Halo Homefront anymore...
They could pinch the soundtrack a little bit to make it blend, feel nicer and closer to the original!
Criticism is great, but the effort that cas puts into this stuff is amazing, and it sounds pretty darn good if you ask me. if there wasnt such consistancy in the quality of the notes (trumpets for example) you wouldnt really know the difference aside from sharp cuts associated with midi. I like it, nuff said
Thanks for the support. Still working on this one. It should sound better once I'm done.
just the same but with less more epicnis in it like the original and I'm not being negative here it is hard to recreate something and to get the same feeling in it, I got the feeling what I got from the original but I'm last trilled about this Call to Arms then the original.
If you are having problems reading this I just came out my bed and replied to this so I'll try later on the day to make it more readable :).
