Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Yet another variation of the standard frigate chassis, the FFGH has a totaly replaced frontal section, replacing the two arm design with a single arm and stub, housing more archers, and a slightly more powerful MAC, along with much more armour and structural stability.
Multiple experimental armour mountings are attatched to the exterior, once the armour plate reaches a critical average temperature, or falls below a certain percentage, it is jetisoned to stop heat transfering and damaging back up plating under, combat tests have proven this successful against simulated plasma torpedos and pulse lasers.
The heavy frigate was designed due to the success of the UNSC Destroyer, impoved speed and a much cheaper build cost means the Heavy frigate is the backwater colony's Destroyer.
do we get to see the armor jettison
If we find a way to show it, we'll do it, but it's unlikely.
I like the armor idea. Though considering how quickly plasma burns through UNSC ships, might it be more effective to have the armor jettison right BEFORE impact?
It might be, but that way doesn't compensate for over time effects like strike craft bombs which wouldn't burn through and threaten it immediately, but over the time span of a battle they could chew through it and threaten the ship
Strike craft bombs? So I guess that means you're working on a bomber variant of the Seraph then? Can't wait to see that :)
It's already up on our gallery
if you want to use the extra armor thing on the heavy frigate you should be able to build the frigate without the extra armor and then have the build it from there as a subsystem so once it takes to much damage it gets destroyed and you have to repair and rebuild the subsystem, just an idea
now THIS is a coool frigate!
freakin awesome!
