Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
The UNSC Frigate is the UNSC's basic capital ship, usualy used as escorts for larger ships or "grunts" in ship terms, they're the back bone of any UNSC fleet
Sweet model! My favorite ship the frigate, even if it took like 10-20 to match up to the covanent
icelord 10-20 to attack what?????
3 destroyers?????
a super carrier??????
1 covie frigate vs 3 UNSC frigates the covie might win
vs 4 frigates the UNSC will win with atleast 50% losses
10-20 frigates isnt for strategic reason, its for the spite of it
ok this is the ship i was talking about....
ok *** for the 4 frigate vs a covie destroyer the covenant would win...the armor on the U.N.S.C ships dose nothing to stop any covenant weapons. the covenant weapons are plasma and burn right the the hull of all U.N.S.C ships. Plz correct me if im wrong i havent read the book i 2 years...but at the battle of harvest in the book "the fall of reach" a battle group of about 5 ships was sent the the S.O.S, sent out by Harvest. The battle group i think was about 4 frigate and a destroyer(i might be wrong). Well when the ships got to Harvest the planet was glassed and there was 1 covenant ship comeing at them..the U.N.S.C ships won but there they lost like 3 frigates and the 2 other ships (destroyer and frigate) were badly damaged. Ok well the point is if 5 ships (one being a destroyer) cant barly live against a covenant destroyer then how can 4 frigates...correct me if the battle was different then i remember!
u were right i was reading it last night
No he wasn't. It was one destroyer and 2 frigates, the frigates were slaughtered and the destroyer was severly damaged before it managed to retreat to slipspace.
sorry is said *** instead of as
Actualy, the recon picket sent to Harvest was 3 frigates, two were destroyed, one escaped and limped it's way back to Reach with alot of damage, also remember that the UNSC ships were taken by suprise, it was their first encounter with an alien species, protocols meant they couldn't fire first, aswell as the fact they had just come out of slipspace so they weren't 100% combat ready yet, so the covenant ship had the advantage that it also got the first shots in
Generaly, it's a 3-1 ratio for battles, the UNSC need to outnumber the Covenant 3-1 to come out with acceptable losses with average ships, but that doesn't necisarily mean 3 frigates can take on an assault carrier though, all the ships would vary and need support from heavier ships.
And it wasn't a Covenant Destroyer, i don't believe it was detailed what ship it was, but i'd presume it was either a CCS or an assault carrier, destroyers and frigates generaly operate in pairs in the Covenant because of a little trick they can do with their shields, making them much more efficient.
it was actually an old Elite cruiser which the brutes got after joining the covies. it was stripped down to the bones but its plasma cannon was repaired. i just got all this from the last halo book
Aye, well the book hadn't come out in the UK when i posted that so i was going off the original info from FoR.
ok...i havent read the book in quit a long time
The UNSC frigate is possibly the most common ship in the navy not to mention the cheapist
Will both UNSC and Covie ships have to produce their own fighter squadrons, rely on fighter-builder factories, or just have a hanger with a limited number of craft stored inside?
