"Also, since my latest upload, there has been some controversy with the MAC pushing enemy ships 100m per shot. Well I've been experimenting and right now the MAC both pushes the ship that fires (Frigate or Destroyer) back 100m and pushes the enemy ship away 100m, making a 200m gap in between ships per shot."
Jolly good. All hail newton =P.

But wouldn't the way the MAC works eliminate any recoil?

Who knows, it's not like the Navy uses coil guns or anything.

If I remind correctly ODPs have Thrusters to counter the acceleration caused by the shot, it is naturally to assume that said acceleration gets compensated by the Thrusters mounted on a Starship.

@_@ all this is kind of confusing.

if u even look at halo reach when the "gettysberg" (i think the frigate is called that)is shooting mac rounds at the cloak pylon the ship shakes a bit but doesnt get moved back

No you are correct, it was in The Fall of Reach.

i can imagine as the way a magnetic accelerator cannon works it would pull the mac to speed and then release it allowing it to travel at extreme speeds without causing any recoil to the ships at the most i can imagine the ship getting pushed back by 10m (at most)

meh... i don't think that it should push the user back...

Actually I changed it again. The push owner value is between 30 and 50 meters and the push target is 100-150m.

I love variables.

Wow, well you've converted me, definitely looks better than Intercept.. (not that it needs to be a competition, its just the truth lol)

In which way? Graphically, I'd say Starside Intercept is leagues above us. I'd think I'd have a better chance competing with his models if I could just do the damn normal maps right lol.

BTW, that's a stock map.

You know, the more I read about it, the equal and opposite reaction in a coil gun is dsipersed via the magnetic fields. The power that goes into pushing the ferromagnetic projectile is counteracted by the power of the slug pushing back on the solenoids. Of course, most of this energy goes into inductors because of the magnetism and such.

Railguns, on the other hand require massive heatsinks to keep the rails from warping under pressure and they create massive amounts of heat.

You can read the coilgun page on wikipedia, it's pretty interesting concept to study up on for this whole debate.

If I can learn how. Making maps is a complicated ordeal.

That, and all the placings of asteroids, megaliths, etc. are on a 3D grid, meaning x,y,z coordinates.

Not much here other than a re-textured Frigate. Don't worry, nothing was really changed, just some touch ups and of course the engine glow I promised.

Also, since my latest upload, there has been some controversy with the MAC pushing enemy ships 100m per shot. Well I've been experimenting and right now the MAC both pushes the ship that fires (Frigate or Destroyer) back 100m and pushes the enemy ship away 100m, making a 200m gap in between ships per shot.
