Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Now I know what you're all thinking, "But Zero, the new Halo 4 canon is trash, why are you including it in the mod??" Well I'm glad you asked because personally I thought a 300m long CCS was pretty poopy myself. However, I made two textures for the CCS when I did the Halo 4 CCS (apparently its a 3000m CCS called the RCS, don't get me going on Halo 4 lore guys just please don't), and just decided to re-color the regular one purple. This model is also unique since it has a lot of the minor mesh details on the CCS such as those boxes and rails on the undersides removed, as well as some front fins, in order to make it look more like the Halo CE/2 era CCS. Kind of an interesting homage, right?
The CRS will be classified as a corvette for obvious reasons. Armament still pending, most likely half of what the CCS has and without an energy projector. Will also be "unshielded."
Haha, get you going on Halo 4 lore? Sounds like me with people getting me going on Halo Reach's supposed lore!
I know how you feel but all the new stuff in the Halo 4 visual guide was forcefully shoehorned into lore it's ridiculous. Halo Reach may have ruined the novel for me, but Bungie is still technically within the bounds of canon...
I just dumped all things Halo after Reach. It contraditced major parts of The Fall of Reach, First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx.
Bungie didnt seem to care for their own canon, as they were ditching Microsoft anyways. 343 Studios has not been any better.
Yeah I agree on a lot of respects to be honest with you.
I agree with y'all... If Halo: Reach followed the novel, it would have been the freaking game of the century.
wait there where books???
Yes. Since just around the release of the first Halo there's been books around. Books which now Microsoft and 343 is doing their best to over-write to sell more games it seems.
Yeah The Fall of Reach came out before Halo CE. The Flood was released shortly after and First Strike came out before Halo 2. There have been many other good books outside of the original trilogy (even though 343i and Microsoft have retconned a lot of information in the reprints), but Ghosts of Onyx was the best.
Oh yes. I loved the Ghosts of Onyx! The first 4 books are awesome, as they are a continiung set of events and belongs together. As for the other two, Contact Harvest is alright (But with some minor flaws, such as humans didnt find out about the Brutes until the battle aboard the Unyeilding Heirophant/Uneven Elephant :P) but The Cole Protocol is just innaccurate.
just got done reading fall of reach and OMG so freaking epic I wish they made reach just like the book
Thats why I was super excited when I heard they were working on a game set on Reach, just after they released ODST. Wow, I was in for a massive dissapointment.
Halo 4's lore made some reasonable sense in the regard of the Infinity being developed but some of the **** 343 put in it regarding it having Forerunner technology didn't make much sense. Some of what Halo 4 had is fine but other parts, not so much.
The Infinity makes no sense to me. Crash lands on a planet and then just gets back up without a scratch DESPITE FIGHTING THROUGH ITS WRECKAGE.
That's lack of logic, not lore related in any way.
Well it's lore related in the fact that the Infinity is the largest ship made out of super metals because of forerunner secret technology. >:(
The Infinity is made out of the fictional, yet, godlike Titanium-A. The only part of the Infinity made out of Forerunner tech is the engines.
Yeah but when the Iroquois rammed the Covenant ship during the battle of Sigma Octanus IV, it took out several of the lower decks.
I agree with 880zero that made no sense the one thing I really loved about halo 4 was the Spartan ops mini clips and seeing the infinity smashing through a covenant carrier
I am sorry for being an annoying nit picker but it was a cruiser.
Regardless it was still an epic scene. I enjoy video games for awesome moments, not logic.
It was 343s rework/reimagining/******** model of some sort of carrier or supercarrier. the ship the infinity rams through is MUCH larger than a cruiser if you compare it to the other cruisers in the scene and if you consider that it was about half the size of the Infinity itself. then again 343 doesnt seem to care much about preserving proper scaling since in Halo 4 the human frigates are 10X the size of frigates in all previous games and the Infinty appears to be 100X the size of covenant cruisers in some scenes.

Everything in Halo 4 is to scale according to 343i.
Ok that makes more sense, I thought the cruisers were the CCS class. I still contest however that if you look up at the cruisers on the mission "Reclaimer", in comparison to the Infinity they seem too small. I still don't like either how they completely changed the design of frigates like the "Forward unto Dawn", but they had to to create enough playable space for the first mission.
the CRS-class is 300m long and the RCS-class is 3000m long. The Infinity is ~5000m long.
I just love that the Charon Class Frigate was the "Largest atmosphere capable craft of the UNSC" -halo encyclopedia
yet they have the Infinity dangling there like its weightless. PHYSICS PEOPLE!
it does that thanks to forerunner engine tech taken from shield world onyx/treyvalen. most forerunner tech does not apply to the laws of physics known to humans. remember, they created the halos and the ark, so they pretty much did what ever they wanted regarding physics.

so... when will the covenant be added??
ust gonna say the infinity has shield has you hear captain del rio say that the crash landing took them offline on the mission with the mammoth the unsc got a lot of forerunner tech stuff from the shield world onyx hid inside it as told in glass lands and the Thursday war novels
In halo 4 the ships you see are covenant light cruiser Wichita are basically frigates the biggest Covie ship ya see is a normal ccs class cruiser I'm pretty sure which the infinity rams their are no Heavy cruisers I'm pretty sure
The engines are forerunner and so are the infinitys shields and the armor is infused with some forerunner armor i think it says in the Thursday war oh sorry to be so obnoxious
