Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for.
This is your home, your forward operating base. This is what you use to set up your fleet and kick the Covenant back to High Charity. And along with the AA turrets (which aren't hardpointed in 3DS Max, btw), the station has 50 Archer pods on standby to ward off early agression.
So I guess you all know what this means. ;)
The rest of the images, as well as all my other textures, can be found here: Majhost.com
nice work 880Zero they look awesome
Nice work Zero you kick ***
that would be a understatement. I'm speechless.
to be honest i know but at the time and still at the mo whenever i see it i can only think of simple-esque words
its why i never looked at it while righting this
there is awesome and then above that, there is picture
okay that is still an understatement
I love it, especially all the details but isn't the main color a little bit too green?
It's more of a kind of light blue. I actually got the color from a screenshot of the station.
Hmmm. I'm still not sure if I like it. Perhaps I need to look at it ingame.
Incredible work Zero, well done!
Awesome!
Holy. Mother. Of. William. Shatner. That is so bloody awesome! Can't wait to play with it in game!!!
wow Awesome
This is so.... HUGE !!! Awesome !
i think the quote "jizzed in my pants" is acceptable here
640x480 is so cruel. Shame on you. ;-P
At the cost of sounding like a heartless critic:
From a distance, the textures on the main body of the station seem like they are cheaply done... as in, it's just a looping texture (it's most visible in this picture). I realize this is probably not true, and that it took a lot of time and effort to texture this monster, but I do not believe time and effort = quality. It seems like you got caught up in the small details, and you didn't realize how that part of the station was starting to look bland from a distance. There should be some macro texture elements that would then guide the design and location of the micro texture elements. This can partly be blamed for no concept or reference art before the ship was modelled.
Take my comment for what it is, as I think criticism is more helpful than just "OMG awesome work, how soon till release?"
I respectfully disagree there. While there are certainly some repeating textures, it seems like they are only noticeable because we are looking at this in raw form, rather than in game. I think for a completely raw design from scratch, it looks great. Except...
The color. It seems so much bluer and lighter than the rest of the UNSC fleet. Was that by design, or will it appear greyer/darker in game? EDIT: Although, looking at your previous material, the grey-blue does serve to differentiate between non-combat shipyards and combat craft, so maybe that's a good thing ^^
For the record, it is a clone stamped texture for the detail, mainly because I took a lot of reference from Anchor 9 and they had done the same thing. I understand what you're saying, though, and I'm always changing my textures when improving them.
As for the color of the station, it is the same blue as the Frigateyard, which is, of course, a color taken from a screenshot of the station.
It looks awesome, also looks like theres a MAC station sticking out the side lol
What you're referring to is probably the turret hardpoints.
I think he might mean the part with the crane on it lol it looks a little like a SMAC, but all in all this is superb and I can't wait to see it in action =) (which hopefully isn't to far away) by the way is the crane going to be animated in game?
Hopefully it will be, maybe just in small intervals or something.
or maybe while it is building the frigate yard and eventually capitalship yard?
this is a question towards zero
i am not part of the team (altho i wish i was)
I think the construction bay is too small for CapShipYards, tbh, so they will just be slipspaced in. The capital shipyards will be ahuge investment, so the max you'll probably get is maybe 2 or 3 since Cruisers will be AC-130s in space.
awesome im looking forward to seeing it in game =)
