isnt the destroyer supposed to look like a bigger version of the frigate?
Halsey said something like that in the books, but this version is based on an actual illustration of a destroyer. This is closer to canon.
Indeed, she stated that Destroyers are essentially the same as Frigates except for this additional armor. Essentially being a keyword there, indicating that it's not the same but just has about the same specs.
