is the pillar of autom a halcyon cruseir or is it a marrathon
and which is stronger a halcyon or a marrathon
The PoA is a Halcyon-class cruiser, an older design that was in the process of being phased out untill the outbreak of the war. It is the smallest UNSC ship of the cruiser class and is thus far inferior tot he Marathon. Though the PoA I'm sure could stand up quite well *post-modification* against one.
Actually, a Marathon is only about 20 meters longer then a Halcyon. :P But yeah, you're right about the rest.
The reason pillar of autumn was so strong was it's ability to take damage and move quickly, something that a larger marathon wasn't able to do. Course the pillar only really took out one super ship and got to halo effectively changing the war forever.
don't forget that Pillar of Autumn also got a major refit.

the Pillar of Autumn took out like 4 or 5 ships before it crash landed into halo
The PoA was stronger cause She was enhanced by Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey and ONI
And ofcourse the Pillar of Autumn isnt the only Halcyon class cruiser! There were more of those ships!
the POA was a very old ship, and if u pay attenetion, it is in halo wars, which occurs in 2531, before it's escape from the battle for reach in 2552. just before the battle ofr reach it was inhansed with cooling systems for its engines and with a mac cannon that could get of 3 shots on a single charge( vs. the regualr of 1 charge=1 shot) though it could only shoot something like shrapenal or splintering rounds. halcyon cruiser's are very expensive and always required maintenance, that is why there are so few of them.
