Zombie Edition is a mod based on original half-life concept, but you will play as a headcrab and, what is more interesting, as a zombie. Zombies can mutate to change their characteristics into three types and every type will have at least six upgrades including new weapons and abilities. Description
List of bugfixes: 1. Door on zlab1 and pile of wood on zlab2 now works properly. Alas, you will need to go to this maps from previous, your saves made on this maps won't work. 2. Level changing from zlab2 to zstr0 now works properly. 3. Mutation menu now will properly show you upgrade info after save/load. 4. Fixed fields of views of NPCs. 5. Fixed sentences, so scientist won't say something like "stop attacking, he's a friend" anymore. 6. Some problems with missing files have been solved. 7. Barneys now fire they guns properly. 8. Human grunts won't have their muzzleflash sprite inside their weapons anymore

My mouse freezes after 15 minutes. I haven't seen this problem in other games. Can you fix it in another patch =]
This is a recent steam issue, I believe.
I've had the same problem with the following:
this mod, Garry's Mod, Half-Life: Source, CounterStrike: Source, and so on...
I thought it was a Source issue, but it cant be...
Maybe the Steam in-game overlay?
or maybe its your mouse the i use was a ball type mouse so i change it to laser type mouse and it didn't have any problem the problem was in my ball type mouse because the ball is picking up dirt and dust that its in your desk.
In which directory do I install this hotfix plus the original release to so that it can be played in Half-Life Source?
It can't be played in Half-Life: Source. Gosh.
When I spawn I just spawn as gordon and no weapons and the Headcrabs and Zombies attack me. How can I fix this?
I think when you get attcked by headcrabs (if your not a zombie) you turn into one your screen will go fully red then return to you're view with zombie hands.

Unpack this in the SAME folder you used to install the mod.
the mod is great, it still has bugs though, but great anyway.
So post them in the "BUGS" thread! I'll try to fix them.

something's wrong. EV_Precache error, events/mp52.sc missing. help?
Why can I not play it? I'm just using the non-steam version of Half Life. It says something about not able to read the clident.dlls or something like that, anyway, is this just for steam?
NVM I think I got it to work, just had to update my Half Life

Just create that file, it could be even empty, nobody cares.
I'm having the same issue, how do you CREATE it? I've tried making a blank text document with the correct name, but this doesn't seem to work, and yes I put it in the zombie/events folder.
i have problems!
1.when i download the mod i can only save it on my dekstop
2. i dont know where to put the file there is only 1 file that is called ZombieEdition1_01 but i cant open it becouse its like a internetpage but it dosent open!
YAY it works now but i have a problem a bug with the door that blocked by planks! When i hit the plan that holds the other THEY DONT FALL DOWN sometimes so i have to cheat!
shooter andy please help me when i try to download the hotfix it only opens as a rar_auto_file when i try to open it it dosent open! when i try to save it it saves as a half internet page! what do i need to do?

One problem I've found, even after I got this patch, was the level transition between zlab2 and zstr0. It fades out to black, then it goes back to normal and I'm still on the same level inside the truck. When I do the changelevel or map command in console, I get HL Gordon Freeman style HUD and weps. Is this some steam issue or what?
Also, I've tried it with retail HL, same results.

one problem so far even after patch is installed...
the level after the one called... incoming i think it was... ( 1 level after zstr0) is glitchy. when i get there i seem to be on a xen style floor panel with white lights falling down infront of me and another floor panel next to that. the rest is just black. and i cant move to the other one because of invisible walls being in the way exept to the one side of the floor where i can fall down about 2 meters worth of space and then i see the outside of what looks like the place at the end of the previous level exept with a xen looking mountain on top of it and gman in a black box on the cliff... ive tried jumping through the bottom of it but i just get blocked. then all i can do is walk around the container thing untill dieing of boredom. hehe...
but thats about it.
ok now what filepath do I tell the shortcut to open?
i open the hl change to zombie mod i played the game for 10 seconds WOOP it goes to desktop
